When it comes to finding unique, high-quality fragrances, Scent Split is a game changer. As a fragrance enthusiast, I’ve tried many ways to discover new scents—from in-store samplings to blind buys—but none have been as rewarding or reliable as Scent Split. Their platform offers a curated selection of perfume samples, making it easy to explore niche and luxury brands without the commitment of a full bottle.

Here are just a few highlights from my recent sampling journey:

1. Andrea Maack - Solstice

Solstice captures the essence of summer with its blend of watermelon, marine accords, and delicate florals.Watermelon is the main note. Not a rich candy watermelon. It is watery. High quality. Super slight floral/green. I'd wear this! Day scent.

Top Notes: Watermelon, Marine Accord
Heart Notes:
Jasmine, Violet, Muguet
Base Notes:
Amber, Sinfonide

2. Arte Profumi - Bisquit

What is going on here??? This is decadent, rich chocolate. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I love it and even though it doesn't last as long as I might like, I want to own a full-sized bottle stat.

Notes: Cocoa, Coffee, Chocolate, Vanilla, Bitter Orange

3. Claudio Zucca - Vanilla Pancake

Thick and sweet at the start. Turns slightly smoky but not cheap smoky and not heavy.  I smell Hazelnut with the first spray. Then it turns into a blend of something sweet with a trace of orange juice . At the base, there is something manly familiar (but not masculine). It's ok. Nothing I want to own. I do smell vanilla pancakes as it's drying and it's nice but still has that familarity I can't -pinpoint. The vanilla pancake smell does come through, and it's so good. If it was just that, or primarily that, I would love it. Update: I tried it again the next day, and it's growing on me. The vanilla pod is stronger on Day #2. I'm going to keep this one around and wear it again to see what my final feelings on it might be. This one could end up being a keeper (?).  3rd wear, I have decided against buying a full-sized bottle. It's nice enough, but not quite for me.

Top Notes: Pancake, Chocolate, Powdered Sugar, Hazelnut
Heart Notes: Caramel, Cocoa, Orange Juice
Base Notes: Vanilla, Vanilla Pod, Benzoin

4. Electimuss - Imperium

Strong. I smell something green and a little earthy. It's not bad, it's good. High quality. I def think more for guys though, even though it's not traditionally male. Dries a little soapy/green.

Top Notes: Bergamot, coriander

Heart Notes: Rose, lily, saffron, jasmine, neroli, tuberose

Base Notes: Amber, musk, Madagascan vanilla, Guaiac wood, oud, patchouli

5. Federico Cantelli - Gourmand Power

A realistic and thick, rich caramel/toffee smell. This is good and affordable. I could own this and be happy.

Top Notes: Pana Cotta, Vanilla Pear
Heart Notes: Caramel, Milk
Base Notes: Milk, Vanilla Honey

6. Jousset - Ciao Bello Pistachio

The notes sound fantastic and on a paper strip it was one of the best sweet scents I've tried. Just like I was hoping for, this was an edible-smelling, fluffy sweet, nutty pistachio. I had high hopes when I sprayed it on my skin. It did not disappoint. This instantly became my favorite Jousset. When it dried down it had a liquer kind of strenght/smell to it. It was still really nice, but not like the pistachio pudding smell that it had in the opening. Thisis where the Marzipan comes through and I love that note too but it has a stronger feel that changes the vibe. I want to keep trying it to make my final decision on whether or not to purchase a full-sized bottle. I'm guessing it will be in my collection sooner rather than later (though I did see it's sold out at the moment), but I want to be sure before I commit.

Top Notes: Macarons, Vanilla, Pistachio Spread Cream
Heart Notes: Waffle, Vanilla Flower, Marzipan
Base Notes: Pistachio, Brioche, Ice Cream

7. L'arc - Calda

Pungent weedy opening with a sharp fruit note.  Not bad but almost shockingly pungent. Then fruity with a very slight  floral that is also very slightly weedy. Maybe that is the Cassis? If I liked Lychee and Cassis, I would love it. Those are not two of my favorite notes. High quality.

Top Notes: Champagne, Strawberry, Lychee, Cassis
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Lilly of the Valley
Base Notes: Musk, Dry Amber, Vanilla, Cotton Candy

8. Ligne St. Barth - Parfum Vanille West Indies

This smells like a very light version of Tihota but not as rich. I like it. It may be too light for me. It's definitely the best skin scent version of that kind of scent profile (bakery vanilla).

Notes: Vanilla, Caramel, Orchid.

9. Lumi - Dulce Fundamentum

This doesn't have coconut in it but it smells like a delicious, rich coconut and chocolate to me. Almost like a Mounds candy bar. I like this a lot. I do smell a little cotton candy too and I like it!!

Top Notes: Caramel, Chocolate, Hazelnuts, Rum Heart Notes: Almond milk, Honey, Vanilla, Amber Base Notes: Tonka bean, White musk, Cotton candy

10. Maison Eau de Couture - Entre Deux Reves.

The first spray smells like Amaretto and I love it, but it's so very light. Then it dries down to be even lighter, almost a whisper. A skin scent Amaretto. I really enjoy it. I'd love it even more if it was stronger. You have to fight to smell this one on you. Excellent skin scent if you're looking for something that won't go outside of your personal space.

Notes: Cedar, Black Cherry, Tonka Bean, Jasmine, Turkish Rose, Sandalwood and Vetiver.

11. Narcotica - Love Me Latte
It smells good. Very subtle. Not the best latte fragrance I've tried but not at all bad. A very slight undertone to it that I don't love, but it's so small it's almost insignificant.

Top Notes: Baked Pears, Caramelized Figs, White Sweet Cherries and Coconut Milk Heart Notes: Golden Caramel, Roasted Coffee Beans, Ambrette, Creamy Milk, Vanilla Caviar, Brown Sugar, Campaca, Lily-of-the-Valley Base Notes: Amber, Madagascar Vanilla, Tonka Beans, Sandalwood, White Cedar, Guaiac Woo and Musk

12. Navitus - Lost in a Dream

This has a little bit of a musky undertone. It is unique. I smell a little marshmallow and milk at first, and then the almond comes through. I like it, but I don't smell the croissant note and I wish I did. I'd definitely wear this if I owned it, but I don't see myself buying it. I do enjoy the sweet drydown w/slight cinnamon. Not overpowering. Neutral day scent.

Top Notes: Milk Accord, Orange, Bergamot & Cinnamon
Heart Notes: F
ig Milk, Almonds, Croissant Accord, Coffee, Marshmallow, Jasmine, Orchid Flower, Amberwood
Base Notes: Madag
ascan Vanilla, Tonka Bean Absolute, Sandalwood, Oakwood, musk

13. New Notes - Bonbons a La Violette

It's a nice take on violet. Soft, not cheap. Probably one of the best violets I've tried. I like it but this type of fragrance is not really my vibe. That being said, I'd wear it every once in awhile if I owed it.

Top Notes: Orange and Bergamot
Heart Notes: Violet
, Sugar, Jasmine
Base Notes: C
edarwood, moss, vanilla and amber

14. Ormonde Jayne - Levant

It is light, and safe, non-offensive, perfect for work. The Lily-of-the-Valley comes through, with a slight whisper of orange.

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Tangelo, Rose Petals
Heart Notes: Lily-of-the-Valley,
Peony, Orange Blossom, Jasmine
Base Notes:
Cedarwood, Amber, Musk

15. Que Tal - Plume Impression

Unisex but leans masculine to me. Apricot (but not a juicy, ripe version of it) and Pink Peppercorn are the most prominent notes to me. Then it becomes a tad sour with a shaving cream type of scent at the base. It does smell high quality. This is nice, but not for me.

Top Notes: Pink Peppercorn, Apricot
Heart Notes: Patchouli, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Orris
Base Notes: Cedarwood, Dry Amber, Musk

16. Sospiro - Maraschino

I like it. It's unique. Posh. A realistic cherry blend with an expensive bready smell? The fruit doesn't last longer than the top notes, which is too bad because that's such a good cherry. I would wear this, but probably not to work or in the daytime. It's not a dark scent, nor a bright scent and it's defintely not for a juvenille. It's high class, high quality. Unique. Top Notes: Red Cherry l Almonds l Strawberry l Apple l Peach l Jasmin Sambac l Rose Heart Notes: Heliotrope l Mimosa l Orris Vetiver

Base Notes: Patchouli l Sandalwood l Tonka l Musk l Amber l Vanilla

17. Sphinx - Strawberry Kiss

I am forever on the hunt for the perfect strawberry fragrance, and I have yet to find it. Strawberry Kiss is a light, fruity strawberry. It is slightly powdery and smells like hard candy and maybe even an car air freshener (but not a heavy version). It is bright and nice enough, but not the strawberry I wanted it to be.

Top Notes: Sphinx Milk, Strawberry, Forest Fruits
Heart Notes: Powdery Notes, Savory Muffins
Base Notes: Burnt Sugar, Burnt Caramel, Woody Notes

18. Stephane Humbert Lucas - Venom Incarnat

Strawberry is a hard note to capture in fragrance, and sometimes it can come off as being juvenile or synthetic. That is not the case with Venom Incarnat. I’d heard this was juicy strawberry goodness (I’m always on the lookout for just the right strawberry scent). It's not to me. It smells like Band-aids (albeit luxury bandaids) in the opening, the mid is a little antiqueish to me, and the drydown has a mild, high-quality,  subtle leather but I don't like it for me. Strawberry is in there but it is a faint whisper, very distant and not juicy fruity at all.  This is not bad at all but if you’re looking for ripe, red strawberries, keep moving. Top Notes: Blackberry, Strawberry, Wild Strawberry, Caramel Heart Notes: Raspberry, Virginia Cedar, Cinnamon Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Black Vanilla, Patchouli, Russian Leather

19. Thaheem London - Peregrina

This is a luxury fragrance I've heard so many people say they love. I tried it and I don't like it. It smells like sour flowers/rose and bathroom air  freshener.

Top Notes: Damascene, Lily-of-the-Valley, Gardenia, Jasmine, Gardenia
Heart Notes: Vanilla, Amber, Caramel, Myrrh, Ylang-Ylang
Base Notes:
 White Musk, Amber, Powder
