I like to sit in a movie theater every now and then, and get lost in a story on the big screen. This weekend the movie I watched was WHITE BIRD, which started airing in theaters October 4!
Struggling to fit in at his new school after being expelled for his treatment of Auggie Pullman, Julian (Bryce Gheisar) is visited by his grandmother (Helen Mirren) and is transformed by the compassionate and heroic story of her attempts to escape Nazi-occupied France during WWII.
"You forget many things in life. But you never forget kindness."
When your mantra is, "Be Brave. Choose Kind," it will not always be easy to stay true to it, but it will be worth it.
WHITE BIRD is a deeply moving coming-of-age story and testament to the courage it takes to extend kindness and love during the harshest of times. From the best-selling author of WONDER, the book that sparked a movement to “choose kind,” comes the inspirational next chapter.
I'll admit, these kinds of story lines always leave a pit in the bottom of my stomach. How can mankind, at times, be so cruel? I just can't fathom the level of evil involved in historic events such as this one. Yet, the stories of hope and inspiration that arose out of the ashes are still prevalent today, and for that we can be thankful.
This is a great movie, and an inspiration in so many different kinds of ways.
WHITE BIRD is currently airing in theaters nationwide.

ReplyDeleteI just watched Wonder a few weeks ago. Oh, how I disliked the bully through most of it, but then dislike turned to pity by the end of the film. I am sure the character will be redeemed in White Bird. The trailer was quite moving and I'll be adding it to my watch list asap!
