Spooky Fun for All Ages: Our Favorite Halloween Picks for Kids and Adults!

We're getting into the spooky spirit this Halloween by indulging in some seriously fun finds for both adults and kids. Below are a few of our favorites!

For the Kids:

Simpsons Treehouse of Horror!

What's more perfect for Halloween than a 13-day countdown? This calendar is such a hit for the kids (and teens!), with a new Pocket Pop revealed each day. My teen loved it so much that he was texting his friends photos. The big joke here, is that he has 3 older siblings  and I would not let them watch The Simpsons. With the youngest child, I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaay more lenient with a lot of things, and have even enjoyed watching the show here and there with him.

Not only is it this countdown calendar a fun way for younger kids to know when Halloween is approaching, but it's also a must-have for fans of The Simpsons, Pocket Pops, or Halloween itself.

The calendar opens up into a spooky cemetery scene, where 13 little doors hide each surprise. As you reveal each 2-inch figure, you can display them in front of the cemetery, making it a great decoration as well. It’s playful, suspenseful, and fun for the whole family! Oh my goodness, these plush toys are adorable! My daughter, who’s a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan, is getting both Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie for Halloween—and I’m sure her daughters will want to share. These 7-inch tall plush toys are brightly colored and perfect for creating a Halloween vibe, whether in a kid's room or around the house.

This exclusive Jack Skellington plush stands 7" tall and is sold at Funko. 

I even had to laugh on the drive home with them sitting in the car seat beside me. They made great travel companions—they didn’t criticize my driving once! 🤣 You can find these exclusive bright- colored, blacklight, plush toys at Funko, and they’re sure to bring some Halloween magic to your home. I mean, who doesn't want a little Oogie Boogie with worms in their life? 

Seasonal Playmobil Figures

Playmobil!! Nothing beats Playmobil for durability, and these little kits are easy to drop in the trick-or-treat buckets of your most favorite doorbell ringers (in my case, my grandchildren). Every single one of my own kids LOVED Playmobil for years and years, so they still spark a sense of nostalgia for me.

The Playmobil Witch with Cat comes is not at all scary, with her big smile and her cute cat, this 10-pc. set includes a hat, broom, broom handles (that's a cute idea!), and a black cat. Ages 4+ (small parts). At $5.99 this is an item well worth picking up for the littles this year. She stands about 8" tall. The perfect size for tucking into pockets or bringing with you on the go.

The Playmobil Dracula is all fancied up in a long coat, looking like he's ready for a night of spooktacular fun. This 13-pc. kit comes with a bat, tree, skull, ax, potion bottle and more. Recommended for ages 4+  because some of the accessories are very small. Dracula stands about 8" tall.

BizyBoo 

Honorable Mention: for those of you who have toddlers in the home, the Bizyboo Halloween Seek 'N Find Busy Bags are always a good idea. These soft, portable toys certainly make car rides fun as the kids seek to find the little items tucked away inside. The holiday-themed bags include such characters as Giggly Ghost, Friendly Frankenstein and Playful Pumpkin. Each Halloween character has 30 different objects for Halloween tucked inside. There is placard attached to show you what is inside.

I was lucky enough to win a pack of seasonal lip balms from Crazy Rumors, and I’m eagerly anticipating their arrival. I can't decide if I'm going to use this little bag with kitty ears for my make-up, or if I'm going to put cute little cat stickers or something in there for my granddaughter...because you know I'm always sharing my CatLadyBox goodies with her. There's always an art card included too, and this one goes right along with the black cat theme.  It's mor stunning in person, but it's glossy black and did not like the flash so much.
