"Average" Joe grows up with the kind of childhood that breaks your heart to bear witness to; his adoptive parents surrender him to someone who beats him mercilessly. Though they apologize upon his return, it isn't long before they move away without telling him, leaving him, as a child, to come 'home' to a completely empty house.
His start in life wasn't fair, there's no doubt about it.
Ending up in the Marines, he learns structure and discipline and becomes a man that he is proud of, only to find himself shunned by the woman he loves when he goes to visit...finding her expecting a child wiht another man.
Many years pass and he and that woman, reunite and marry, only to find themselves in the fight of their lives as he feels called to coach the high school football team. When he agrees, he tells God he will always give thanks, whether the team wins or not. Little did either of them know how much of a struggle that would turn out to be.
Synopsis: High school football coach Joe Kennedy had no other choice but to fight. A childhood in foster care followed by 20 years in the Marine Corps was nothing compared to his biggest battle: his commitment to stand for God publicly by taking a knee in prayer after each game. When he was fired, Joe and his wife Denise knew this battle for religious freedom, freedom of speech, and the rights of all Americans was one they would have to fight—no matter the cost.
