God's Not Dead: In God We Trust is in theaters starting today, September 12th. From the series that is the biggest in faith films, this uplifting film takes on a journey that turns political. Great timing, I'd say, since we have embarked on political season here in the United States.

Watch as Pastor Dave shows us again, that sometimes you have to step outside of your comfort zone if you want to make a difference. So, that's what he decides to do, but of course, it comes with a lot of mountains to climb and gullies to get across.

Political gain is never easy, but add a solidly-based faith foundation to it and the parameters are even more restricted. In a society focused on democracy, representation, and equality, it is alarming that 40 million Christians do not vote. 25 million are registered and do not vote, 15 million are not even registered. That's a lot of people not being counted. That's a lot of influence being lost. No matter who it is you support, you have to get out there and vote if you want that support to make a difference.

Synopsis:

In a time of profound political, civil and spiritual turmoil, Reverend David Hill grapples with a crucial question: Does God still have a place in politics? Following the unexpected death of a favored congressional incumbent, he feels compelled to enter the race, challenging the increasing efforts to remove religious influence from public policy. Facing off against the state senator Peter Kane, a formidable opponent determined to create greater division by pushing religion out of the public square. David must navigate the treacherous waters of modern politics, where his faith, optimism and principles are put to the ultimate test. As he confronts adversaries from his past and faces relentless scrutiny, David's campaign becomes a beacon of hope for many who yearn for spiritual and moral leadership in a divided nation. God's Not Dead: In God We trust explores the enduring relevance of faith in public life and the fight to keep religious values at the heart of governance.

The film stars David A.R. White (God's Not Dead, Evening Shade), Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark),, Samaire Armstrong (The O.C.), Ray Wise (Robo Cop), Scott Baio (Happy Days), Charlene Tilton (Dallas), with guest appearances by Governor Mike Huckabee and Newsboys.

  5. The movie does sound interesting. I have voted every year since I have been able to, never sticking to one party or the other, but in all honesty, this is the first time I have ever considered not voting. It is shocking how many registered voters do not vote, but for once I can understand their frustration with both candidates and choose to stay silent with their vote.
