An Exploration Into How To Get The Most Out Of Baltimore, Maryland

This is a collaborative post. Planning a US summer road trip is exciting. With so many diverse landscapes to see, amazing attractions to visit, and incredible food to try, the US is a great place to take a car and go on a road trip adventure.

While the more-popular cities like NYC and LA are great places to visit, they are becoming overcrowded. How about adding Baltimore to your radar? Baltimore is a great place for a road trip if you enjoy the rich history and special waterfront views. The reduced crowds (compared to NYC and LA) make this city more pleasurable for spending time and relaxing.

Let’s dive in and explore the best way to experience Baltimore.

Stay in a home away from home

Nothing beats staying in a homely accommodation that feels like home. Whether you're staying for one night or six, the best way to feel relaxed and at home in a new place is to stay in a homely accommodation with convenient amenities.

Choosing homely waterfront apartments in Baltimore is ideal so that you can rest your head and be close to the city’s best scenic spot.

Be charmed by its majestic waterfront

Baltimore isn’t called Charm City for no reason. Its waterfront is beautiful and different from other waterfronts in other US major cities. It is quiet, peaceful, and charming.

While the city was given this nickname to help boost its reputation, it now lives up to the hype and will manage to charm you as soon as you visit its center and waterfront. Spend time along the water, taking in the views and enjoying the National Aquarium, the science center, and many delicious restaurants - Rusty Scupper is a fan favorite for its tasty seafood.

Walk around the neighborhoods

Every neighborhood in Baltimore has something special to offer. You may stroll around Fells Point's cobblestone lanes, which are dotted with vintage buildings, upscale stores, and bustling nightlife. Experience the rich cultural legacy of Little Italy and indulge in authentic Italian food. Hampden has many interesting antique stores and cafes, which is well-known for its eccentric charm and thriving arts community.

The Washington Monument is located in Mount Vernon and has stunning theatres, museums, and architecture. Every neighborhood has a distinct personality and charm that makes exploring outside of the main tourist attractions worthwhile.

Try out the local cuisine and market

Maryland is well-known for its seafood, especially its crabs. To sample crab cakes, Maryland blue crabs, and other seafood delicacies, visit one of the city's many seafood restaurants. Phillips Seafood and Faidley's Seafood are famous for their delectable and fresh seafood selections.

Remember to stop by Lexington Market, one of the nation's oldest public marketplaces, where you can eat regional specialties and cuisine from around the world. For dessert, try a Berger cookie; this Baltimore staple is famous for its thick layer of chocolate fudge. You won’t get bored of the eateries in Baltimore - there is something there to please everyone!

  5. I wish that I could have traveled to Baltimore and a few other places in New England when I lived in North Carolina. But the closest thing I got to see was the yard where to naval ships came into the Portsmouth naval base.

  13. I am ashamed to admit that while I've visited most of the Midwest, South, and West Coast, we've only been to a handful of eastern states. I'd love to visit Baltimore at some point. It seems rich in history and has many things to see and do while there!
