Disclosure: Many thanks to Angel Studios for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Based on a true story, Mother Cabrini opens in theaters March 8th.

Mother Cabrini and a group of nuns who work with her to save children, after many requests to the Pope are finally granted permission to begin an orphanage out of the country, to which the Pope requests she begin in New York City. Met with obstacles every step of the way, she courageously continues to carry out her mission to help the city's most vulnerable members, the abandoned children.

Cabrini is physically weak, but strong in spirit and action. Though challenged by lack of funding and not being permitted to get money from Americans, she finds a way to get the word out to the public by appealing to the nature of the owner of the newspaper. Until that point, people were not entirely aware of the conditions people endured in Five Points, New York Of course, not everyone wants to have the plight of the immigrant Italian children heard and powerful people step in the path of progress.

With persistence, and proof of pure intent, help sometimes shows up in ways we might not have expected. And sometimes that help turns on us and can be our ruin. So, who can you trust and how can you get them on your side? Based on a true story, see how Mother Cabrini came to America with nothing but a suitcase and a few sisters, and how she eventually passed away there, a hero of the United States, Italy and the world.

Four years later she was given the title of Patroness of Immigrants.  Cabrini is the first biopic about the Patron Saint of Immigrants.

Based on the true story of one woman’s fight for the equality, health, and happiness of immigrant orphans. From Alejandro Monteverde, award-winning director of 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮, comes the powerful epic of Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York City in 1889 and is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable. With broken English and poor health, Cabrini uses her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope unlike anything the world had ever seen.
