Amouage Sunshine Woman

The name on this Amouage perfume is Sunshine, and the color is bright yellow, but don’t let that fool you; this is not your typical summer scent. There is no big citrus punch here (or even a small one). Instead, when you spray this you’ll be enveloped in a pleasant blonde tobacco scent with a healthy touch of apricot jam that gives you all the warm weather feels. This is literally the best tobacco fragrance I have tried so far!

Powerhouse Fragrance

There is nothing fluffy in this scent, it is an ‘I’m an independent woman’ kind of fragrance. You have to be ready for it.

Tobacco is the most prominent note in it (for my nose), but it is not the traditional dark or cherry tobacco so many perfumes boast. Sunshine has blonde tobacco, which is much lighter but is still very rich and robust. I absolutely adore it.

Adding to the scentsory goodness, every once in awhile I catch whiffs of almond and thick apricot while I’m wearing it, the perfect combination alongside the washed tobacco.

It Lasts All Day!

Amouage fragrances are known for their longevity and this one is no exception: this scent lasts all day long (and sometimes into the night).  If I’ve sprayed Sunshine Woman on, even one or two times only, I can still sometimes catch whiffs of it up to 12 hours later.

It’s not overpowering though, it’s more of a scent that drifts in and out. You catch snippets of it every now and then. I prefer that (with this particular fragrance).

Everything about this premier tobacco fragrance, including the longevity, feels refined and wealthy. This is a fragrance house and a perfume that knows what it’s doing. Amouage Sunshine is spectacular in every way.

Perfume Notes

Top: Blackcurrant Liquor, Almond, Davana

Mid: Osmanthus Absolute, Jasmine, Vanilla, Magnolia

Base: Cade, Patchouli, Blond Tobacco, Papyrus.

How does it develop? 

Scent develops differently on everyone, but for me, with the Amouage Sunshine, the almond peeks in sparingly every now and again from start to finish. The apricot (likely the Davana and the Osmanthus Absolute) is deliciously easy to find but only for the first couple of hours. After that, it is primarily the blonde tobacco that remains the most prominent note.
