Best-selling author Lee Strobel wrote a book called The Case for Christ. Today, The Case for Heaven, based off of that book, makes its debut on Pure Flix. It is a documentary that sets out to explore what people might know about the afterlife who have had a near-death-experience.
REAL-LIFE STORIES / INTERVIEWS
The movie includes conversations with experts, as well as everyday people. It really does offer a well-rounded point-of-view, and it is guaranteed to get you thinking. Some of those interviewed are Christians, some definitely are not, and Lee Strobel himself (once an atheist but now a believer), is a man who has had a near-death experience of his own.
I think it's pretty common as human beings, that we at some point will wonder, what is going to happen after I die? In this show, we join Strobel as he ventures out to see what he can find.
What is The Case for Heaven and who has made contributions to it?
It is a documentary based on the new book by Lee Strobel
Harry Broom
Howard Storm - emergency surgery required, atheist and had a near-death experience in a “dank, dark hallway” where individuals became increasingly violent. He suddenly remembered the song “Jesus Loves Me” when was a child. When he asked Jesus to save him, a light appeared and he was brought back to life.
Eric Owyoung - musician - wrote the music for “The Case for Heaven.”
John Burke - author of “Imagine Heaven” - interviewed people with lots to lose and nothing to gain from discussing their experiences.
Pamela Reynolds - brain aneurysm surgery
Steve Caballero - professional skateboarder - atheist to believer
Jon Steingard - Hawk Nelson band member - believer to atheist/agnostic
Francis Chan - author, pastor - “Erasing Hell: What God Said About Eternity, and the Things We’ve Made Up.” His mother died in childbirth and his father blamed him for that.
Luis Palau - lifelong evangelist, dying of stage four cancer - Lee visited and interviewed him before his death.
It provides an interesting take on thought-provoking questions that many of us will consider at different points in our lives.
What does the author have to say about the new movie?
"Viewers will be surprised, captivated and encouraged by 'The Case for Heaven,' a beautiful and compelling film. It will dispel many of their misconceptions about the afterlife. I’m thrilled with the enthusiastic reception the documentary has received so far – and I can't wait for an even wider audience to experience it.” -Lee Strobel
