Perfumico is Perfecto for Samples. PLUS a full-size Fragrance Giveaway

I was pretty sure fragrances were going to be a fly-by-night thing for me, something I found that I loved during the pandemic. We couldn't get out of the house much, except to buy toilet paper and food, and I got sucked into the YouTube Rabbit Hole (if you've experienced this, you know exactly what I mean).

Ordering samples online however, became 'a thing' and if I really loved the fragrance, I would get a full-sized bottle. Then I began to seek out others who share my passion for trying new fragrances (your family and friends who don't get it, can only take so much😅). Turns out there are a whole lot of people who love it, just like me!

We share our thoughts on new fragrances we try, places we buy samples from, etc. PERFUMICO is one of those places everyone agrees is a most excellent place to get samples. They have such a large selection of brands, and you can buy in the size you like. 

In this shipment from Perfumico, I received the following:

1. For me, the Louis Vuitton "Afternoon Swim" was the smallest vial because the only other LV I've tried is Attrape Reves. EVERYONE I've ever heard talk about that one, loves it so, so much. I tried it and didn't really see what all of the fuss was about (sorry, AR lovers). This one however, has me sitting up to take notice. It is the juiciest, true-to-life citrus I have ever smelled (think of a medly of fresh cut citrus fruits) and I love it so much. The only thing is, it reminds me a teeny bit of a man. It's 100% unisex, so I'm not sure why, but there's something in there that makes me think it was designed for a fella. So, as you do with samples, I wore it again yesterday and every single time I caught a whiff of it, I was just swooning. It smells so good. 

I'm a little on the fence with it but leaning towards buying a full-sized bottle. We shall see. And that's the beauty of samples. You spend just a few bucks and wear the fragrance a few times to see how you really fell about it before you commit to a bigger size. This definitely has the best citrus note I have ever smelled in a fragrance, and it lasts and lasts, which is important at this price point. If it sounds good, go ahead and order a sample from Perfumico, and see what cha' think!

2. BDK Bouquet de Hongrie was pretty much a safe try for me. I've tried quite a few of the perfumes from this fragrance house. I have liked all but one. This is a soft, pleasant floral for summer. You can wear it pretty much everywhere, and it definitely has a well-blended luxe quality to it. I'm not sure that I'll buy a full-size bottle, but only because I have perfume right now that is similar (not in scent, but in that they are light, pleasant florals). I'm happy to have this sample to wear though, when the mood strikes, and I intend to enjoy every delicious drop of it.

3. Marc Jacob's Divine Decadence

Okay, here's where the conversation gets complicated. Marc Jacob's had this line of Decadence come out and the original was all the rage (laughing because my teen told me to never say 'all the rage' again 🙄🤣). Anyway, people loved this and the company made flankers (perfumes that were similar but had a new twist). ALL of the boxes looked alike. So much alike that when I went to buy the original, I ended up with a flanker.

LOL. So I finally got the original, and someone in my family loved it, so I gave it to her. No biggie. I had more time to get another one in my collection. These were reasonably priced, and easy to find. Everyone loved them, so I had no doubt that it would be easy to replace it in my collection.

I liked it because it has a sultry plum note that you don't find in many fragrances.

Fast forward to recent times, I did a sample trade with an online friend (we are in perfume groups together and traded the samples we are no longer using). She had the Decadence in there and I thought, well, I love that, time to buy it again. BUT it was nowhere to be found. It's discontinued now. You can only find one of the flankers, and it's called EAU SO DECADENT.

It's nice but too light (?) for me (or maybe it's just not enough like the original for me, if I'm being honest with myself). The fragrance is pretty and playful, almost youthful, and it is pleasant. IF THAT SOUNDS GOOD TO YOU, today may be your lucky day. I am giving away a brand-new one-ounce bottle of Eau So Decadent (see end of post).  That's a good prize because since these are discontinued, they are highly likely to become collector's items. And the designer purse bottles are cute. Who doesn't love a Marc Jacobs bag?!

Okay... so back to Perfumico...in my samples order I got Divine Decadence (yet another flanker from this line). When I tried it, I wasn't expecting much, not because of the brand, Marc Jacobs is a highly respected designer who makes perfumes that people love, but because I didn't think any of the flankers could hold a candle to the original. THIS one though...oh, my goodness, this one!! Divine Decadence smells SO SO SO SO SO much like the original, but it's a tad bit lighter. I like it just as much, and maybe even more (I could own both and be completely happy).

What a wonderful surprise! Of course, there is the discontinued dilemma... this too, is now hard to find. My solution? I will buy more samples from Perfumico, while they are still in stock and call it a day. I will miss not having that purse (the bottle) in my collection though. It's different than any of my other bottles, and now that they're bound to be a collector's delight. Ready to shop?
