Are you nice to yourself? It’s probably not a question that you are used to being asked, but you should still think about the answer carefully. A lot of the time we spend too much of our thoughts on how we treat others, so we forget to ensure we treat ourselves nicely too. However, this could be one of the reasons for your low levels of self confidence, so it’s time to make a change. Tell Yourself You Are Enough
One of the things that you should ensure that you are doing on a regular basis is telling yourself that you are enough, because you are. There are no ifs and there are no buts, you are simply good enough the way that you are. If you tell yourself this over and over again, even if you don’t believe it in the start, eventually it will be in your head enough and you will start to see that it is true. You don’t have to do anything to be good enough, you simply have to be.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t look the way that other people look, or you don’t act the way other people act. As long as you are living and breathing, you are already enough. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, and certainly don’t tell yourself otherwise.
Treat Yourself Every Now And Again
Another thing that you can do is treat yourself every now and then. Why do you have to wait for someone else to be nice to you? Why can’t you simply treat yourself, do nice things for yourself and be nice to yourself. Your worth is not measured by someone else’s ability to see it, so stop waiting around. Instead of waiting for someone to send you flowers, head to a small family run flower shop and buy yourself some. You will make your day and their day by choosing a small store rather than a large retailer. Or, you can buy yourself something that you really wanted as a treat.
Give Yourself Grace
Finally, give yourself grace. You’re allowed to make mistakes. You’re allowed to get things wrong. You’re allowed to be different. You’re allowed to be you. Give yourself grace for not being perfect, and see that you don’t have to be in order to be good enough.

I am usually MUCH less nice to me than I am to others. Mind you, I don't see the link between it and confidence.

Give yourself grace is a biggie. We are our own worst critic.
ReplyDeleteI try to take care of myself mentally and physically more than I used to. I'm still pretty critical with myself but I'm working on being nicer to myself.
