Are you thinking about putting your home on the market? If so, then you need to consider how the little details are going to impact this process. Small details can count for a lot when selling your property. Here are some examples that you should definitely keep in mind.
Curb Appeal
First, you should think about the curb appeal of your property. Do be aware that curb appeal is often the first impression that buyers will receive of your property. You need to make sure that it does dazzle them. You should consider any addition that would make your neighbors green with envy. For instance, a water feature could be a great idea because the movements are always going to attract the eye. Your exterior needs to be tidy too so it could be worth hiring a gardener to clean it up a little.
Wall Choices
The walls are an important aspect of your home when it comes to hitting a potential sale from the right angle. If your walls are blank then this can be useful because it frees your buyers to imagine whatever they might want to decorate them with. However, you can also use wall decals and options such as J Kirk Richards prints to ensure that your home feels more welcoming. When you are choosing art for the home, make sure that you are considering what type of theme or atmosphere you are trying to create as this will differ depending on the room.
Furniture Options
You might also want to think about the furniture in your home. Different furniture has the potential to make rooms in your home feel more compact or potentially more open depending on the choices that you decide on. The different types of furniture can also create an impact on the feeling of a room. For instance, if you want to ensure that your home feels modern, then you do need to explore contemporary furniture choices. These will often have unique designs including, but not limited to, asymmetrical shapes. You can also choose options like L-shaped sofas to ensure that it feels more homely.
Colors Considerations
Finally, you need to think about the colors and shades that are going to work in your home. If you want to get the colors right for your home, then you should think about exploring color psychology. Various research suggests that different colors can have various impacts on the emotions and behavior of people. The classic example would be red shades are said to make people feel angry or invigorated, not sure if that's true, but it is perhaps worth taking into consideration. In contrast, green shades are supposed to make people feel creative. This could be useful for a home sale because it could get them thinking about how they could redesign your home.
We hope this helps you understand how little details can count for a lot when you are selling your home to a potential buyer. If you make the right choices here, then you will find it easier to get the right level of interest for your property and get the fast sale you need.
This is very helpful, thanks for the great info!
ReplyDeleteUgh, the colors. My current house had some very.... odd... color choices in it. I spent the first 3 days painting half of the house before we moved in. But, that's also just paint and can easily be covered.
ReplyDeleteAs an architect I agree with everything written above. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've all been in homes that make our eyes bleed. It's good to have that attention to details. If you don't know how there are folks you can hire than can help you set up a home.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week, my friend. ♥
I've been working on updating my curb appeal. We bought a lot of plants on clearance at Lowe's last month that I hope are going to add a lot of color to our yard next spring/summer.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an informative post! I'll definitely keep these points in mind when I'll buy a home so I can sell it at a great price later :)

ReplyDeletedid you know that even smell can matter - baking a cake for instance
ReplyDeleteI did! Years ago when I sold my first home, my realtor told me that baking a pie or something would make things even more appealing and homey. :)
DeleteI wish I had read your post when I was putting my house on the market 3 years ago. It would have been smoother.
