There have been a number of studies that have proven that there are links between various nutrients and acne prevention, radiance, and wrinkle reduction. If you are not happy with the condition of your skin, you may find that a few simple diet changes make all of the difference. Below, we will take a look at some of the best foods for achieving a glowing complexion.
1. Green tea – Green tea is great for boosting your complexion. In fact, there are many health benefits to gain by switching to green tea. Green tea is high in antioxidants, especially EGCG, which is proven to lower redness, as well as fight inflammation. 2. Soy milk – Adding soy milk to your diet is beneficial because it contains proteins and minerals that have been shown to lower hyperpigmentation. 3. Kidney beans – Next we have kidney beans, which are high in zinc. This is important because there has been research that indicates there is a connection between low zinc levels and blemishes. So, by getting a good dose of kidney beans, you should find that your skin starts to become a lot clearer. 4. Fish – Fish is an excellent source of essential fatty acids like omega-6 and omega-3. Fish containing essential fatty acids are beneficial for the skin, as they reduce inflammation in the body. Inflammation causes acne because it triggers the cells to clog the pore. 5. Sunflower seeds – Sunflower seeds help to keep your skin supple, as they are loaded with vitamin E, which will protect your top layers of skin from the sun. 6. Peppers – Peppers can liven up any salad or stir-fry, and they are great for preventing crow’s feet. You should target the yellow and green variety of peppers especially, as they can reduce wrinkles, and they decrease the skin’s sensitivity to the sun. 7. Walnuts – Walnuts are a great snack for anyone that is trying to eat healthily and wants to boost the appearance of their skin too. This is because of the omega-3 essential fatty acids that are found in walnuts. They improve the elasticity of the skin. The nuts can also improve collagen production because they are loaded with the mineral copper. 8. Pomegranates – Pomegranates are full of polyphenol antioxidants, which regulate the skin’s blood flow and fight free radicals. You should either have a glass of pomegranate juice or one fruit daily, and this will do the trick. 9. Yogurt – Yogurt helps to make your skin more resistant to lines, as the protein contained in yogurt helps the skin to become firmer. Greek yogurt is the best choice, as it tends to contain twice as much protein as regular yogurt. Eat a single serving daily, and you should begin to notice a difference. 10. Dark chocolate – Cocoa is great for the skin, as it hydrates it, which makes it more supple and firmer. Find a good cocoa powder supplier! Adding a few pieces of dark chocolate to your diet will be enough to improve luminosity. But make sure that the chocolate you choose is at least 70% cacao, as this will ensure it contains a high level of flavanols, which is a potent kind of antioxidant.
