If you remember, last week  (found here) I wrote a post (link to first post) about the start of a program I am doing on my own, by using the book "Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks--While Burning Fat Overnight" by Joel Marion. I promised to check back in and let you know how things were going, since this way to lose weight and maintain a healthier me is different than any way I have ever heard of before. Of course that got me interested in the author. Bestselling author, Joel Marion, is a fitness expert and nutritionist debunking the myths underlying traditional dieting. He offers a simple and effective weight loss program done in ways that might surprise you. Below you will find a few excerpts from one of his interviews:

Q: What was the most surprising discovery when you were researching scientific data for the diet?
A: That almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.
Q: You’re a six-time best selling author, what is different about this book compared to your others?
A: Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don't have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods.
You don't have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don't have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.
Q: How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?
A: It's not. And that's exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more
enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because
it caters to our bodies natural instincts.
So, how am I doing so far? Well, I'm still reading, and learning and loving what I see. There  are carbohydrates that make you feel full that I didn't even realize were carbs, like berries, which I happen to love. And let me tell you, it feels like an absolute treat to head into the kitchen, wash up some fresh berries, put them in a fresh dish and eat some chilly, juicy berries before I go to bed. While I don't always eat before I go to bed, it's nice to know that there are ways to do so that aren't going to ill-effect my health goals.

“Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”

I  am feeling good, and still moving forward with trying to meet my goal of taking a few pounds off. Best of all, I am doing it without having to starve myself or deprive myself of every good food out there. "Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks--While Burning Fat Overnight" by Joel Marion is now available to purchase. If you are looking for an alternative to losing weight that doesn't require traditional measures associated with diets that are hard to adhere to, and don't usually last any way if they do somewhat work (because it's so easy to go back to old habits), then this is a book worth reading.

  2. I've noticed, since I got laid off we've been eating a lot less. I'm not trying to cut corners. I've just been upping our intake on water and veggies.

  3. A lot of things aren't based in scientific fact we come to realize the more we dig. Getting to the nuts and bolts of things is the way.

Oh wow. This is totally different from the After Six diet of years ago. I don't follow any diet though, I just watch my sugar intake. Lately I don't have much of an appetite. It is too hot and humid here for me to actually sit down and eat!

  6. It's pretty interesting how two opposite type plans can work for two different people. Intermittent fasting works for some while this works for some as well. I love learning more about different ways to make my body work at it's best.
