Get Outside with the RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard

There are so many things we write about that are sent to my son, and every once in awhile, I think I should write a post about something we have had for years that still brings joy to him. This RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard is definitely one of those things! This is the kind of item that has a cool factor that jumps off of the scales, for him and those who see him on it. I don't think we've ever gone around town without someone telling him it's an amazing ride. And it is!  In his right hand, in the photo above, is a remote control. That controls the speed, and the on/off for the board. It is small and easy to carry in his hand or pocket.

Here you can get a better look at just how small the remote is (that's what's in his hand in the picture above).

The board goes pretty fast too, moving him along a steady speed of up to 10mph. It's pretty quiet; you can hear it coming and going, sort of a whir sound, but it's not an obnoxious or loud sound. I don't think you're supposed to do tricks on it, but sometime he cannot resist a little lift of the board while he is riding. I love this picture because it reminds me of our stay in Daytona Beach, which is a city I love to visit. The shadow in this picture cracks me up too. He looks so tiny in it.

This is one of those items you can purchase that is well worth the money and then some. The countless, quality hours they will get on it over the years makes it a worthy 'toy' investment. Now, as I type that, I wonder if skateboards can really be classified as toys? Interesting question. For our purposes, I'll say yes. Though there is no maximum age limit on this, and it is truly enjoyed from young children (recommended for ages 9+) to young (and sometimes middle-aged, lol) adults, I would still classify it as a toy. Would you?

The big difference between this and a non-motorized skateboard is weight. This is heavier than a traditional board because it has a motor in it. It's not the kind of skateboard you'll be taking to the skate park to do tricks, but it is the kind of board you can take to the skate park, park, boardwalk, neighborhood, etc., just to cruise.

Everyone needs a power-assist at times, and if you think an electric skateboard is for you – look what our pro-skateboarder engineers came up with.  With carve and turn action, The RazorX Cruiser is a high-performance, high-quality skateboard, powered by an electric rear-wheel motor and controlled by a hand-held remote. The wireless, digital, hand-held remote brings the power of the RazorX Cruiser’s kick-to-start, 125-watt motor from under your feet to the palm of your hand. Variable-speed control helps ease you in and out of the skate action, allowing riders to increase and decrease their ride speed at any time by pushing forward or pulling back on the control stick.

With our soft-start kick activated technology, the motor ramps up slowly, reaching top speeds of 10 mph, and slows to a stop with the pull of your thumb.  Even when you’ve run out of battery juice, this board shifts into manual and performs like a normal skateboard without interrupting your fun flow. Virtually maintenance free, our kick-to-start, 125-watt, geared, rear-wheel-drive motor delivers a smooth, responsive ride without alignment issues, chain or belt. It’s power you can count on for electric skateboarding action at speeds up to 10 mph (16 km/h) for up to 40 minutes of continuous use.

If you get tired of standing (and you're skinny enough, lol!) you can have a seat on it and take a stroll that way too! That being said, the RazorX Cruiser Electric Skateboard does hold up to 220 lbs.

Our board takes us from morning to night, and when my son is done with it for the night, he simply puts it on the charger, plugs it into the wall and lets it charge back up for another day of fun.

I'm writing about this electric skateboard because it is one of those items that you get that the kids can enjoy for years. It makes the perfect gift idea, or is a good purchase to get 'just because.' With summer vacation coming up soon, and kids recovering from being stuck inside due to these crazy circumstances we have all been enduring, this could be the absolute perfect item to buy your child to celebrate more time outdoors.

I highly recommend it. Ours has been nothing but wonderful, since day one.

  4. It looks like he's got some mad skateboarding skills. Yes, I'd call it a toy, but the college kids would probably call it another mode of transportation for getting around campus. So many of the kids there I've seen zipping by on them. They are fun and practical!

  5. The "toys" that last for years and kids still love them after years of usage, are the best! My daughter is too young for this, but I'm sure she would love it in the future.

Oh so fun! I wish they had that when I was still young and skateboard crazy. Haha. When my grandson is a little older, I will get him that. He's just 4 years old, so I guess I have to wait a few more years. Your son sure looked like he enjoys every minute riding his electric skateboard.
