Welch's Fruit Snacks also Come Inside of Easter Eggs!

Every year, for quite awhile now, I've talked about Welch's Fruit Snacks with a holiday theme to put in our Easter Baskets. This year, while I am certainly doing the same, I want to talk about the big egg packaging!! I love that it's a lot bigger than a traditional Easter Egg because that means we can use it as the 'prize egg' or the egg the kids turn in to get something bigger (I remember when a handful of pennies was such a huge delight!). Though the prizes have gotten more sophisticated in our house (my middle-schooler doesn't love pennies anymore, but the joy of finding eggs, especially if he is lucky enough to get the prize egg, is still a big deal). In years past, we have used a golden egg. I think it's time to switch things up a bit and use this Welch's Fruit Snack egg instead. Since we will not be socializing this year for the holiday, the egg hunt at home will be even more special because other activities outside of the house will not be happening (and if they were, we certainly wouldn't go because for this pandemic, I believe 'safe is better than sorry' applies in many ways).

This particular brand of fruit snacks is a staple in many homes, including ours. The flavor is great, the consistency isn't gummy, and the first ingredient is fruit. Kids love them, and it's better than including just candy in an Easter basket. In fact, for my oldest granddaughter who doesn't eat much sugar, it is the perfect alternative to candy and she prefers it every single time (she's going to love this big egg!).

I know we're also socially isolating by choice right now, to try and stop the Coronavirus from spreading, so while you wouldn't be making a special trip to get these, I would add them to the grocery list for when it's your time that you absolutely have to go out to a store. With Easter right around the corner, I'm so glad we already have ours on hand because I know the kids are going to love them.  Honestly, I am an adult, and I enjoy them too. I'm just delighted at the big size of the egg. I have my son holding two of them in the photo above, so you can get a feel for just how big they are too.

You can pick these up in retail stores everywhere, so if you have to be out, might as well add these to the cart while you are there.  They will surely be a welcome addition to Easter baskets. Otherwise, stay in and stay safe, everyone!

  1. Those are certainly big. And flat on the bottom so they stand - clever.

    1. I do like that it stands on its own. Sturdy too. :)

  2. I could get them for Mica, but Isaak has braces, so we're pretty limited on what he can have.

  3. They are surely big eggs indeed. Could use them for the grand prize with ease. I remember when pennies weren't so bad to get too haha wanted a bunch though. Now Canada has ditched them, not that I'd want pennies anyway, but still, no pennies for kiddos here. Have to go higher.

    1. That is definitely true. Makes us appreciate so much that we've taken for granted. :)

  5. Easter celebrations will be a lot different this year than they've been in the past. For the first time in like 76 years, the sunrise service on top of Stone Mountain has been cancelled this year. You're a smart cookie to have gotten your basket goodies early. Those fruit snacks sound good, but if I bought them, I'd have to hide them from my hubby. Sugar's a definite no-no in our house. (Thank goodness for Truvia!) Hunker down, and take care!

  6. What a great idea to use it as the prize egg! I am sad for the kids that won't get to do egg hunts this year, but better safe than sorry. I do love that there are still fun treats like Welch's that they can enjoy for the holiday.
