So, let's talk camping! This My Home Town Camping Set from BRIO lets you pack the fam up (the wooden family, that is) and head out for a camping adventure. There's even room for Fido (because who wants to go camping without the family dog?).
And there's the cute little pup. Bringing your little doggie along on a camping trip only adds to the fun, and this one, like the little people, is made of solid wood. He's got those cute little spots on him, and has a cheery look to him too.
There are (6) pieces in total. The car, canoe and trailer (all made primarily of heavy-duty plastic), as well as the two people and the dog (made of wood). The people and/or dog fit in the trailer, the people fit in the car, and there's room for the family/pets in the canoe too. You can also prop that canoe right up on top of the car, and put your pooch in the trailer, and everyone's ready to go. This is the kind of toy that allows kids to sit on the floor and get their imagination really moving (ha, that was punny, right?!).
BRIO has a lot of great toys like this for holiday gift giving. The wood ones are definitely among my favorite selections, and the 2 my son has in his hands are my top BRIO picks for the younger crowd.
BRIO ALSO HAS GAMES!
BRIO has some games too. This Take Along Labyrinth is great for kids of all ages. Even though this is geared towards younger children (the top is sealed so the marbles won't get lost), my son who is 11, is going to like finding this under the Christmas Tree with his name on the package. He can play this at home (I'm thinking we'll have timed touraments ;) ) or he can bring it along in the car because it is conveniently and intentionally sized to be portable.
Generations of children have grown up battling the BRIO Labyrinth. We felt it was time to grow this family with a new member – a game toy offering a gentler start The Take Along Labyrinth is turnable and completely sealed. No more lost marbles, just an excellent BRIO baby toy.
The Giveaway!
Now on to the giveaway item! One lucky winner is going to get this My First Railway Starter Pack for children ages 18 months +. This little wooden train set runs on batteries and is a joy for the little ones to see. It's simply constructed and designed to withstand chunky little hands picking up the pieces to play. ;)
Wow! So much fun at the same time for the youngest train drivers. Start by building a track layout with the mountain blocks and the tunnel, and let your train go up and down and through the tunnel. Press the arrow button on top of the engine and the train starts to move by itself. The wagon with the spinning wheel makes it extra fun to watch the train passing by.
One lucky winner gets one to call their own. US entrants only.

ReplyDeleteWooden toys are the best toys. We still have some of Jason's wood toys from when he was little. They definitely stand the test of time, so you really get what you pay for in terms of quality and longevity when you go with wood.
ReplyDeleteI learned the spend a lot of time testing new toys by observing how children use them, and we try to learn from this before we complete a design -- that children will hopefully love. prizewinner (at) hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI learned about the newer ways this product is so great - sound, light and action are combined to create cause-and-effect chain reactions, telling little stories in the process. It is also wonderful as you can connect other sets to make a huge track with different areas of fun
ReplyDeleteI learned that they make instruments.

ReplyDeleteI really like that their mission is to design toys that aren't merely for entertainment, but rather to grow with the child and help them grow.
