Today My Son is Sick: Sleep Zzz Pillow to the Rescue

Last night, between the hours of midnight and 2 a.m., my son was up and down intermittently, crying, running a fever and generally just not feeling well. His biggest complaint was that his throat was so sore. This all took us completely by surprise, because the very day before he had been perfectly fine. My granddaughter did get sick on Saturday morning when we were visiting, but that was 3 days ago!! Could it take that long for germs to manifest themselves into what we were dealing with (and the symptoms were not exactly the same)? I have no idea, but suffice it to say, I had to call off work and he stayed home from school. He got up and came to me on the couch, with his trusty Sleep Zzz Pillow under his arm, and his favorite blanket (that is really my blanket, a Christmas gift he confiscated and never returned, a couple of years back). ;) He promptly fell asleep and didn't wake up, except for water once, until the day was almost entirely over.

I hate when he's sick, he always takes it so hard and looks so miserable.  I was glad though, that he had the Sleep Zzz. This pillow is designed to wrap around your body and it really is comforting. He uses it for lounging, resting and even sitting up. If you look carefully, you can see there is a pocket too, on the bottom right side of the pillow.

Here he is at 10 a.m. Out like a light three hours running.

He got up and asked for water once, and fell back asleep. He didn't want a shirt on, he said it was making him too hot (never mind that the blanket is made of hot material too, lol).

The only movement he had for hours was putting an arm in the air, poor guy!

Around 4 p.m., I talked him into sitting up and having some chicken noodle soup and more water. He tried to have a little juice too, but it hurt his throat. You can see he sat the pillow up and propped his body on it. As pitiful as this picture looks, it does show how versatile the Sleep Zzz Pillow can be.

This pillow has been designed to help snuggle your child, which allows them to sleep longer and wake up less during the night. My son is too old for those kinds of problems, but he did appreciate the snuggle factor.

He coughed, and ate, sat up for a few minutes and then promptly fell back asleep. At 8 p.m. he got up for dinner, and now he is about to go to sleep again for the night. I'm working on moving him to his bed, as we speak. ;) I have little doubt he'll take his Sleep Zzz with him when he goes. He sleeps on it nightly. What it reminds me of is the neck pillows you use on airplanes, but it's fatter, bigger and much longer on the sides, wrapping around your body instead of your neck. When he's recovered from being sick, I'll take off the removable cover and toss it in the washer (great feature, right?!), and then it'll go back to being his normal pillow instead of the one he's using for comfort while he's sick. Let's hope that day will be tomorrow. :)

Parents want their kiddos to be comfortable, and this pillow allows that and more. I highly recommend it. We love ours. It comes in different patterns (or you can buy extra covers for your pillow), and it comes in child and adult sizes. Mail4Rosey readers get $5 off with the code: SLEEPY

  7. Hopefully the Sleep zzz pillow cover takes the germs so he awakens all better poor guy. I love the way he can rest his neck back while sitting up with the pillow, its hard to lay down sometimes with out coughing and crouping. I'd love a Sleep zzz for me so I could have comfortable padding to rest against.

  14. Sounds like an awesome pillow to have especially when you're feeling under the weather. I assume it's great for toddlers too so they can sleep alone in their bed better at night, without looking for your arm to hold or something like that.

  16. Poor boy! I hope he's feeling better today.

Isaak has a cold. I keep telling him to stay away from me. Whoever said that boys don't like to cuddle was totally wrong about mine. Anyhow my nose never will be normal. I want to stay as well as I can. Especially since I'm on a lot of Aspirin right now.

  20. Awe, I hope he's feeling better today! The pillow does look really comfy. A nice snuggle is good for when one is feeling crummy. I also thought it looked like an airplane pillow at first and thought "Oh, I need one of those for my upcoming trip." Sadly, that one's a bit too large for my flight.
