Batman Plays Basketball! Oriental Trading for Halloween!

Our little 'Batman' likes to play basketball, and he's definitely committed to the cause. Look at his face...he's serious. This game is one that touches his heart, evokes determination and encourages him to set goals that he works on daily. He likes basketball more than any other thing I've ever seen him take part in, and he's a natural at it too.

Batman is gritty. Look at that face. He is not a superhero to be messed with...he knows a few trick shots, and some fancy dribbles too, and he's not afraid to use them.

Watching him makes me laugh, makes me worry (sometimes), and makes me proud (always). This kid Batman has really got it together, on and off the court, and I couldn't be more proud of the tween he has become.

Of course, those little moments where his 'little boy' still shows (oh please let that ball be all net!), also make me smile. I couldn't be happier that there is a gradual release when it comes to our kiddos growing up. It's already happening way too fast in our house, so I definitely appreciate the moments like the one above...where you can tell he's really hoping that ball goes squarely into the net (and the innocence on his face squarely gives it away). ;)

And then of course, there are these moments when he busts out with that sweet, super happy smile he's had since he was little. This is the one I hope he keeps for life. :)

When my little Batman is starting to get tired out from practice, he sits down to rest with a bottle of water to refresh (and then begs to play again). Not one to let him overdue it, I almost almost say no. This day, however, I had him take off the Boys Armored Deluxe Muscle Chest Costume he selected from Oriental Trading (don't want it sweaty for Halloween) and we played a game of H.O.R.S.E. I lost, but these days, that's nothing new. I expected it. :)

My son has loved playing 'dress-up' since he was a very young boy. Though he doesn't do so much anymore (he only does it these days when one of the littles in the family come over to visit) but Halloween offers him the perfect excuse to don a favorite costume, and what a costume this one is, I do have to say! The quality is nice, not at all flimsy like so many that you come across in the retail stores, and the look is smashing!
