cupholders (one for her snacks and one for her drinks) before we took her on the road.

My grandchild is my most precious 'cargo,' and while riding in the car, I want to make sure she is comfortable and first and foremost, safe. Graco has this new 4Ever Extend2Fit 4-in-1 Car Seat that will meet your every need, her every want, and has every safety feature you can imagine (and more). It is definitely not your ordinary car seat. I think every inch of this Graco Car Seat is extraordinary.

The price on this one is a little steep, but if you think of it in terms of being a safety investment for your child (and it is), and the amount of time it is going to last (it's called 4Ever for a reason), then it's really not pricey at all. There are many reasons you'll want to invest in this car seat for the child/ren in your life. I'll state a few of them below.

The car seat is durable and strong. With a steel-reinforced frame as the main base, you'll rest easy knowing this is the choice you made for your child. I have had four children, and now a grandbaby too, and I can tell you not all car seats are created equal. Some of them are downright junky in construction. Not so with this 4Ever Extend2Fit from Graco, not so one bit.

The car seat can be used four ways:

• 4-50 lb. Rear-Facing Harness (This allows you to keep your little ones rear-facing longer, if you so choose to do so...it has been noted that this way of sitting is 5x safer for children).
• 22-65 lbs. Front-Facing Harness (that is how we use it for my granddaughter, she is too tall to comfortably sit facing backwards these days).
• 40-100 lbs. High-Back Booster
• 40-120 lbs. Backless Booster

It's nice to have options. This one gives you every kind of car seat type in one, so it's really the only seat you'll need to purchase for your child. I know my son thinks he is too big for a car seat, and I was almost persuaded to let him ride without one. THEN by chance, he happened to climb up front to listen to the radio while I was talking to a friend of mine in her driveway (just dropping of sunglasses she left at our house). We looked at him and laughed because he was dancing around too, but in reality it was a huge eye opener for me because my son who is getting SO big these days, looked like a little peanut in the car from that point of view. That sealed the deal for me. He's staying in his booster... for now. It's okay if he thinks it's ridiculous (most of his friends are not using one), his safety in the car while we're driving has to be my priority. 

You can turn it into a booster, with or without the back panel attached.

The Graco Extend2Fit will see him through until he's able to sit entirely on his own. To tell the truth, I think he likes the extra boost so he can see well out of the windows (he can't without it). I KNOW he likes the extra cupholder space (even if it's not drinks he's always putting in there when he's in the seat).

For those of you with an infant, the car seat comes with a soft, comfortable insert that is machine washable. In fact, the whole car seat cover can be tossed in the washer and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to disassemble it like it does with some brands. If you've ever dealt with a seat cushion that was next to impossible to remove, you know that this feature is a definite Score!

An additional thing to note that is very handy, is that the Simply Safe Adjust system allows the harness and headrest to adjust together! That's perfect for saving you time and making it so your child will have a comfortable ride. If you are using the infant insert, the headrest is attached to that, and fits nicely inside of the one that is permanent.

Of course this would be a perfect baby shower gift idea too. I'm just saying...what parents wouldn't love you to show up to the party with this as a gift for their little one? It's literally the only car seat they would ever have to buy!

The two drink cup holders are a big plus for my granddaughter (hey, it's the little things, right?), and the Extend2Fit 4-position panel (that allows for more leg room) is what delights me. This is to be used when the car seat is placed backwards, and allows for your child to have more time in that rear-facing mode (they won't outgrow being able to face backwards, which has been proven safer, so quickly).

Installation for this car seat is fairly simple, and the level attached to the side is more than a little handy. I did have to refer to the direction book, but only to second guess myself on attaching the hooks that are included. I didn't know if both hooks had to go on or not. The instruction book is fabulously easy to understand and it's very thorough!
