You know how some holidays are recognized nationally on one date, but celebrated locally on another? That's how it is with National Pancake Day. The official day to celebrate is February 17th, globally, but in the U.S. it is oft times celebrated TODAY, Feb. 9th! We're a huge pancake loving family over here, so we're glad to get an early start, and thanks to Hungry Jack and T-fal, whipping up our tasty hotcakes was one easy deal!
Ingredients
Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancake Mix
Hungry Jack Original Syrup
Water
Fresh Fruit
Heart Shaped Egg Shaper (good for pancakes too)
Chocolate Syrup (optional)
Follow the instructions on the pancake mix box, adding the required amount of water to the mix (inside of a big bowl). Stir it up. I let my youngest son do that part because he is a master stirrer.
Then I placed the egg shaper in the pan and poured in the batter. When the batter starts to bubble, lift the egg ring and flip the pancake.
You can trim up your shape to make it even prettier if it doesn't come out perfect, but we don't like to waste any good pancake, so we didn't. ;)
My youngest likes fruit, but not on his pancakes (craziness, I know). He added a bit of Hungry Jack Original Syrup to his pancake and he was a happy child.
The rest of us like to spruce it up a bit. I used fresh strawberries, another child used the jarred variety (with syrup on them) and all of us (except my youngest) added fresh pineapples and blueberries. Then a dollop of whipped cream on each heart, a drizzle of chocolate syrup (optional and not done by all of us), and everyone used a little syrup.
The final result? Super delicious, tasty sweet pancakes to help celebrate National Pancake Day. They look great, right? :)
About the Pan:
The T-Fal OptiCook Total Non-Stick Fry Pan handled the job like a boss. The inside of these pans has a unique heat indicator that shows when the pan is ready to seal in flavor. The inside of these titanium-reinforced pans are completely non-stick and the handle has a riveted softtouch for ease in handling.
About the Pancake Mix:
Hungry Jack pancake mix is add-water only so you can easily have pancakes any time. The hearty, rich mix is a good source of calcium and has six vitamins plus iron.
About the Syrup:
Hungry Jack Original Syrup has a bottle designed to go in the microwave and a heat indicator on the front to let you know when it's warm. It also has a spill-proof lid, and it's tasty good delicious.
So...it's almost dinner time. If you don't have plans, maybe you can make Hungry Jack Pancakes for dinner! Bet the kids'll love it. :)
One Final Shout Out:
Happy Anniversary to T-Fal, a company who has been making most excellent cook and bakeware for the last 60 years! #StackedandSticky #Tfal60thAnniversary
