We were recently provided a guest pass to enjoy our local Chuck E. Cheese. What that included for us was a large pizza, 4 soft drinks, and 30 tokens. That in itself is enough to make for a fun day, but we also opted to upgrade (for a very minimal price...keep reading).
Chuck E. Cheese is a great place to meet up with a group, host an event, or just let the kids run wild. Why would you choose Chuck E. Cheese for a day out? I can think of a lot of reasons, here are (10), right off the top of my head.
Chuck E. Cheese has Eats!
A take-home cup for your beverage (they had a girl version too),
My son likes the big horse. You can atcually sit inside of it, put in a token and it rocks back and forth. This horse is huge!
There are games galore,
and there are seats everywhere you go too. These come quite in handy when you want to rest but your child still wants to go, go, go!
The game selection is pretty diverse with selections for any age group (including adult!),
There's also a small toddler area that is sectioned away from the bigger kids so your babies don't get run over (the bigger kids get very excited at Chuck E Cheese, and running may or may not sometimes be involved). ;) It has a nice selection of things to do or play on, and is not overwhelming at all with choices.
There are also seats inside of this area, so you can let the little ones loose, and still keep a close eye on them. :)
Chuck E. Cheese has a Climb and Slide area for Big Kids.
Chuck E. Cheese also has a mouse, and not just any mouse, but Chuck E. Cheese himself. He comes around regularly and greets the kids. It's fun to see the kids' faces when he comes out. I really appreciate that they announce he is coming just before he does so you can get your cameras ready. ;)
Chuck E. Cheese has Security!
Last but not least, Chuck E. Cheese has a Kid Check. While nothing is foolproof, they do keep someone at the front door full-time who stamps a number on you, and the same number on your child. You're not able to exit if your numbers don't match. That's a great feature if a child is trying to get out on his or her own, for whatever reason, and it's a nice safeguard and safety check too.
No Child of Mine Has Ever Left Chuck E. Cheese Anything but Happy!
The last and final reason I recommend Chuck E. Cheese for a day out? It makes the kids happy. I've listed it last, but honestly, that's the number one reason for me. :) We've loved Chuck E. Cheese for all four of our kids. I'm sure we'll keep on loving it now for the grandbaby too. :)

Chuck E. Cheese has Eats!
Chuck E. has so many things to offer if you're in the mood for a gathering. They have a salad bar full of goodies to start with, or even for the main course if you're looking to eat light.
Everything looked very fresh at the one we visited (and as an aside, and completely unrelated to salad, you can see the Dippin' Dots machine in the background too, that's a popular feature with my daughter). ;)
And of course they have pizza made-to-order. I haven't had pizza there in a good long time, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it had a lot of flavor upgrade from the last time I tried it (quite a few years ago). Our little group finished it right off, and we loved the cute Chuck E Cheese plates that came with it too. :)
Chuck E. Cheese has Coffee and Cake!
Chuck E. Cheese also has single-serve coffee!! I may or may not have squeeed and taken a picture when I saw the k-cups. And if you are having a special occasion visit, but didn't bring the cake? Chuck E. has you covered for that too, with a variety of simple but effective cakes ready to go!! Coffee and cake? Oh yes, please. :)
Chuck E. Cheese has Upgrades!
Chuck E. Cheese also offers a lot of options to upgrade your day pass if you so choose. For just a couple of bucks you could add cotton candy...this one was banana flavored, yum...
A take-home cup for your beverage (they had a girl version too),
Add a little time in the ticket blaster and your child is going to be over-the-moon happy. The ticket blaster opens, your child steps inside, straps on goggles, and an employee turns on the wind. You can't scoop any tickets off of the floor, but whatever you catch, you keep. They spice it up a little too, by putting 'big ticket' certificates in there worth multiple tokens. You can buy this any time for just a few dollars and it's a ton of fun for the kids.
Chuck E. Cheese has Games!
And of course, Chuck E. Cheese has games. The tokens come in a cute branded cup, pint-sized for little hands, and they work on any ride or game on the floor, and the floor is huge!
I have a particular fondness for the Pinocchio / Geppetto carving at the top of the horse. It's the nostalgia factor that gets me, I think!

and they have some unique rides like the one above that you have to pedal to make rise that are really cool. This one and the ride that takes your picture with the mouse while you sit in a car next to him are my favorites.
Chuck E. Cheese has a Toddler Zone!

Chuck E. Cheese has a Climb and Slide area for Big Kids.
There's also a big climb and slide area for the grade-school-aged kids. This is great for helping them interact socially and get some exercise in. You can climb through, 'drive' a stationary car at the top, and you can slide down the slide.
Chuck E. Cheese has Prizes!
At the end of the visit, Chuck E. Cheese has prizes! You exchange your tickets earned from your game play for the prizes you can 'afford.' This part of the trip takes a lot of consideration because the kids want to be sure to get juuuuuuuuuust what they want (i.e. have them decide on their prizes before you call an attendant ;) ).
The prizes run the gamut from small to large, or you can pay cash if you see something you like and you want to take it home. :)
I couldn't come home with some of the things my son picks out and have him be happy, but if he earns tickets and picks them out himself at Chuck E Cheese, well that's a whole new ballgame. Those little spider rings and 5-cent candies become the highlight of his day!
Chuck E. Cheese has...well, they have Chuck E. Cheese!
Chuck E. Cheese also has a mouse, and not just any mouse, but Chuck E. Cheese himself. He comes around regularly and greets the kids. It's fun to see the kids' faces when he comes out. I really appreciate that they announce he is coming just before he does so you can get your cameras ready. ;)

I've not been there since my son was growing up. It's a fun place for the kids indeed. Way loud for us old folks.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
I agree it does get loud. My son asked to go every weekend when he was little. It is a great place to keep the kids entertained. Catherine S
DeleteWhen my son was little we were always at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a great place to let him burn off some energy with his friends.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Chuck E Cheese in the longest time. Sounds like they have made some major upgrades.
ReplyDeleteWe just visited Chuck E Cheese a few months ago. Their new menu items are delicious.
DeleteI don't even think they have one near here. Never stepped foot in one at least
ReplyDeleteI always appreciate that Chuck E Cheese continues to grow and expand absolutely everything from their games and menu items, to their unique services and features. Seeing my kids happy always makes me happy too!
ReplyDeleteMy boys LOVE Chuck E Cheese. We haven't been for a while, but we will be back again soon I am sure.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while since we have been there. Looks like some great fun for all. Love that Ticket Blaster.
ReplyDeleteChuck-E-Cheese sounds like so much fun. My kids went when they were little but it looks even better now.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there in years but I don't remember them having a salad bar! We have actually been throwing the idea around of taking the oldest two sometime soon! I think they have the best pizza!
ReplyDeleteI have to share my Chuck E Cheese story. I had a meeting scheduled but no one to watch my kids. So I talked three other adults into meeting me at Chuck E Cheese. I filled the kids' pockets with tokens, they ran away to play. While the adults planned (and I kept one eye on my children), they had a blast.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves going to chuck e cheese but she likes watching the adults play the games for her. Little sneak then she likes getting the tickets for the prizes. I still have to take her back to use up the rest of her tokens.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a Chuck E Cheese in forever, but it sounds like it's getting better and better. I always loved the games!
ReplyDeleteYou are right. This sounds like a wonderful place to return to regardless of a person's age. I'd give my tickets to a kid, though.
ReplyDeleteThe kids always love going there
ReplyDeleteThere's no denying that kids would love going to Chuck E Cheese. How can you say "NO" to that arcade. I bet they would go crazy over those rides and games.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely place to take kids to I am sure my kiddies would love it there.
ReplyDeleteMy kids have been begging me to go to Chuck E. Cheese for months! We'd have to make a day trip of it as it's pretty far away for us, but I know the kids would have a blast. I'm really glad to see they have a great looking salad bar too, not just greasy pizza!
ReplyDeleteMy kids love Chuck E Cheese. It's interesting that even kids over 7 still enjoy going there. I guess the arcade is always a draw :).
ReplyDeleteWe take the grandkids to Chuck E Cheese fairly often. I'm always impressed with how clean the entire place is and how the salad bar always looks fresh and well kept. Of course, the grands love it, too!
ReplyDeleteWe had a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese last year, and it was gigantic hit. I love being able to let kids scream like maniacs when they're AREN'T at my house. =D
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Chuck E Cheese in forever. Looks like they revamped the place, we might have to go check it out again!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a super fun place for kids. I wish there is one near our place, so I can bring my kids there.
ReplyDeleteChuck e Cheese is always a lot of fun for the kids. It looks like they have made some major upgrades too!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been to a Chuck E Cheese in such a long time, but my kids LOVED it when we did! They've been to a few parties there too. So fun. - Jeanine
ReplyDeleteMy 4 year old was behind me as I reading and kept asking can we please go to Chuck E cheese PLEASE!!! It is his favorite place in the world lol, I love their kid friendly food and games. Keeps my little man busy and happy :)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of this, I have been trying to take the kids there to have a fun time. They love it. Just need the budget to line up
ReplyDeleteGreat list.
I went for my baby cousin birthday party this year! She cried when she saw him at first lol (she turned 3). I grew up on Chuck E. so glad he is still around.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there in years. Do they still have those mechanical animals and stage shows?
ReplyDeleteThey do, but it's the one thing there I've never really seen the people get into much. :)
DeleteGosh this brings back memories. We used to go to Chuck e Cheese quit a bit with the kids. I do believe we've had birthday parties here for both boys at different times. I loved not having to prepare for or clean up after the party. Chuck e Cheese is a blast for the little guys!
ReplyDeleteMadison had her 2nd birthday party there and it seems like everyone has their party there. The kids love it but I only do it because of them. :)
ReplyDeleteMy son LOVES Chuck E Cheese! We go there every year for our fall fun fest! I LOVE their salad bar it's SO yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe have been there for a couple of birthday parties over the years. Fun place for kids that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteWe don't live near a Chuck E. Cheese, but I remember taking my kids when they were little. Definitely a fun place for little ones!
ReplyDeleteHA! We were just there for my son's birthday a few weeks ago! They had a blast...as always.
ReplyDeleteThe kids LOVE going to Chuck-e-cheese!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't gone in years which is such a shame the littlest one hasn't been there yet.
Kiddo loves Chuck E Cheese. I just can't deal with the place. All the lights and noise give my PTSD and anxiety some serious issues.
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was younger, he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese all the time. He is in middle school now and still loves to go and play the games. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a blast for them. I do expect a follow-up post called "10 reasons it ISN'T a blast for the parents!" ;)
ReplyDeletebuwahahaha it makes me laugh because so many parents say that... I don't mind Chuck E Cheese. :) I don't like the more confined arcades though that are so noisy!
DeleteI love chuck e cheeses!! My kids have had several birthday parties there. Great place for the kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI've never taken them to Chuckee CHeese. I was thinking of planning my son's bday party there. I need to find a location. I think it'd be great for them.
ReplyDeleteOh, we are a huge Chuck E. Cheese family! We started with the toddler zone and worked our way up. Both of my kids have had birthdays there -- they make it so easy. The ticket blaster was HUGE for my daughter! Absolutely great place for kids.
ReplyDelete:-)

No doubt it's a blast for kids. Your next post should be 10 reasons it's not a blast for parents. LOL.
ReplyDeleteSee four comments up. You'll laugh. ;) :)
DeleteI have not been to a CHuck E Cheese but I know they are popular and we do have one in our area. Looks fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Chuck E Cheese in forever. My kids are too old for it now but they loved it when they were little. I had to laugh about Scott's comment though. I would love to read that post :)
ReplyDeleteMy boys love Chuck E. Cheese! We tend to go early, when they first open, to avoid the crowds.
ReplyDeleteWe love Chuck E Cheese. We just took the kids there this week.
ReplyDeleteMy kids loved going to Chucky Cheese for their birthdays when they were younger. They are teens and feel they are to old to go in places like that. However, they never turn down a chance to go when invited. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThat place is so much fun for kids. I remember taking my kids to this place more than once.
ReplyDeleteSome of my fondest childhood memories involve Chuck E Cheese!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I've never actually been there - either as a kid myself, or with any of my four!
ReplyDeleteMy kids love Chuck a Cheese! It's a fun place to celebrate a party or just to meet up with other kids
ReplyDeleteMy girls used to love playing there. I admit, Jason and I always thought the pizza was the the best part. It was yummy!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a fun place to take the little kids. They get to have good fun and most of all, a good time!
ReplyDeleteChuck E. Cheese added a salad bar? How awesome! I'm loving that coffee station too =)
ReplyDeleteMy children love Chuck E Cheese!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I still go to Chuck E Cheese from time to time. It's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to a Chuck E Cheese ever. I don't have kids and my nieces and nephews are a bit too old for all that already. Seems like it is fun for the kids though!
ReplyDeleteTracy @ Ascending Butterfly
I wish there is a Chuck E. Cheese near us, so I can take my kids there. The place looks so fun.
ReplyDeleteWow - Chuck E Cheese looks like they have really uped their game! I used to take my oldest there all the time but my youngest has never been. We're going to have to plan a trip!
ReplyDeleteEven though my kids are a little older, my boys still really have fun trying to get as many tickets as possible.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they have cafe-like foods! :) That coffee is very affordable knowing it's K-cup! Our family goes there at least once every quarter... more during summer. :)
ReplyDeleteWe try to make to Chuck E Cheese one in a year during my little one's birthday. Since her birthday it during winter time, it is a perfect place for some indoor fun.
ReplyDeleteWe love Chuck E Cheese. Their new menu options are really delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the kids had a great day Chuck E. Cheese. The giant horse that rocks when you put a token in it sounds like a great experience for little ones (and bigger people too but they probably don't fit inside the horse, now I wish I was still small).
ReplyDeleteWe love Chuck E Cheese. I have had a few of the kids birthday party's there. All the kids loved it and i do not have to do any clean up which is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteChuck E Cheese is a great place to take the kids. The food is great and there is so much to do there. It is great for rainy days.
ReplyDeleteChuck E Cheese sure has come a long way since my son was little. Everything looks so much brighter and more modern. The food looks amazing now!
ReplyDeleteWe always have a blast at CEC. I didn't know they had coffee there! Very nice upgrades! We need to go back.
ReplyDeleteWe love ChuckeCheese! My son had three birthdays there!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there in AGES! I don't think my kids have ever even been there and there's one not far from here. All that pizza alone is reason enough for my kids to love it. haha. And there always seems to be a liquor store near by.
ReplyDeleteChuck E Cheese can be fun. I just dont like how crowded it can be. You have to find a good time to go. I remember doing birthday parties there when we were younger.
ReplyDeleteI went to our local Chuck E Chese about 12 years ago and it was so packed and they didn't even have a baby changing station in the bathroom, we ended up leaving that day and haven't been back since. The place you went to looks fantastic! Maybe I will see if ours has gotten better over the years because it certainly does looks fun.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you! Our son celebrated his 8th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's and we all had a blast, not only the kids. :)
ReplyDeleteWe love our local Chuck E Cheese's! Our homeschool group has it's Not Back To School Party there every year.
ReplyDeleteOh my kids LOVE Chuck E cheese we havent been for awhile though.
ReplyDeleteMy kids love Chuck E Cheese! I wish we had one closer to our house!
ReplyDeleteMy family and I love to go there from there time to time. I believe I have much fun as the kids do!
ReplyDeleteI like that they have more activities and have re-branded but no to happy they changed Chucky. He's slimmer .. anyway it's still a great place to take the kids
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since we visited the nearby chuck e cheese. It's fun for the kids!
ReplyDeleteI remember going here as a kid and I loved it. Looks like its still just as fun.
ReplyDeleteWe took our grandson to Chuck E cheese over the summer. He has only been there once before
ReplyDeleteWe have not been in a bit... it may be time to take him for a treat if he starts acting right at school.
ReplyDeleteI love chunky Cheese! I love to go there with the family. The food, games and prizes are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Chuck e in years. Looks like fun!
