Today was the holiday class party for the kids.
The teachers really went all out, and us parents did too! Before lunch time, the gym teacher put together a huge obstacle course as a surprise for the kids. Everything had a Halloween theme. There were corn stalks, witches on brooms that moved, pumpkins that were all lit up (no burning flames), etc. There were also games...basketball, 4-wheel, sit-down scooter racing, timed racing (that's my boy running his little heart out in the picture above), and some other little activities that I didn't get too close to because I was staying out of the way. It was such a treat for the kids, and they had a blast!
When the teacher came to get the kids, it was time to get the party started. Us parents walked down to help with set-up and then parade time was on!
My 'Robin' was happy to see not one, but two different Batmans in his class. One of the Batman's stuck by his side the whole entire parade. Some things are just too good to pass up, and that partnership was one of 'em. ;) The Batman forgot his costume pants, but he didn't seem to mind at all, lolol!! I bet his mom or dad was somewhere shaking their head and laughing at just pants left behind.
Because my son had fake muscles built in to his chest, he let his friends punch him in the chest. They took turns and laughed and laughed. I guess that's funny when you're 6 & 7-yrs. old. I'm just glad there was a lot of padding. ;)
After the parade we finished the day with sweet treats and games. Pin the tail on the black cat was my fave, and my son loved the ring toss. It was a great way to spend the school day, and now we've got a long weekend to enjoy. Soccer is over too... so the only commitment we have for the next three days is trick-or-treating, and well, that's not a commitment, that's just plain fun.
I tried to stay out of the kids' way, so my picture here is kind of far away. You can see a little bit though, how the gym teacher set things up. |

When it was time for the costumes, the teacher had 24 very happy students on her hands. ;) |

That's my Robin in the back. His classmate was Batman. Batman forgot his 'real' pants, but true to bat form, he adapted to the situation with ease. ;) |

"Punch me in the chest?!??!!" Sometimes, I just stand back, and stay out of the way, lol! The boys were giggling like crazy. I was just glad there was thick padding. ;) |
