Disclosure: I received samples to help facilitate the review. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.
Being 100% honest, I never had a desire to try this type of cookie. Not this particular brand, but any brand, I just didn't think it was something I would like. I'm glad I got over that and took the plunge because these cookies are my new favorite gourmet treat! I don't know about other brands or similar styles, but the Almondina was unique, delicious, and as a huge added bonus, good for you too!
The Almondina cookies are thin and crisp. They don't have to be dunked in anything (in fact, I prefer that they're not). AND the most important thing they taste so good! So good.
I've tried three of the flavors so far, all of which were absolutely delicious. My favorite so far of the ones I have tried, are the AlmondDuo (pistachios and almonds). You can see that cookie pictured above. Packed full of a double nut, tasty punch this was the first one I sampled, and from there on in, I knew I was hooked!
The pros/cons list is easily heavily favored on the side of the positives. I loved the taste, they're light (not overly filling), they're good for you, they have only 30 calories, and the flavor selections are out of this world exciting! They also have no cholesterol, no added fat, no salt, and no preservatives.
The only con I encountered is that I only like to have one or two at a time, and the ones I received didn't come in a resealable container. Easily fixed by putting them in an airtight container of my own, but still something you should know. I did see on the website though, that they have a new product called Toastees, that are smaller squares in a resealable bag. I also saw they have new chocolate dipped cookies, and that is really upping the game!
The story behind the family-recipe created cookies is pretty interesting and heartwarming, if you want to check it out you can do so here. The cookies are top-of-the line delicious, and if you see a package in the store, why not pick one up? I'm guessing you'll end up glad that you did.
