Catching fireflies in your pajamas is fun! Loving the new Hatley Green Book 'Bear Hug' Kids Short PJ set |
Look who's catching fireflies in his brand new Hatley PJ's!
One of the great things about summer is running around the yard before bedtime, catching fireflies. We live in Michigan, so it stays light until 9:30 or 9:45, but around 8:30 or so the lightning bugs start to come out. Tonight we went out, like we have for the last couple of nights, to see what we could find. Little man had already brushed his teeth and gotten into his pj's and so that's how it came about that he was dressed like he was for tonight's adventure. I grabbed my camera. ;)
I'm not sure if he's dancing or coming in for a 'bear hug' like the pajamas say, but he does have that playful look on his face that I love to see. |
The bear and tree are appliqued on the pajama top, so they're going to stay cute, and intact, wash after wash. |
If you're not familiar with Hatley, they are a family-owned and run business in Canada, started by the mom and dad who are now retired, and continuing on with the three sons who now run it today. If the website is any indication, the family is tight-knit, playful, and very good at what they do (creating awesome clothes for you and me).
The clothing is top-of-the-line durable and cute, and once you give the kids' pj's a whirl, you'll never look at department store pajamas the same again. The Hatley Green Book "Bear Hug" Kids' Short Pajama Set we received is made of 100% cotton, which means it's extremely light, soft, and breathable (important for being comfortable in the hot weather, and for things like running around catching fireflies).
I know a lot of you (as do I) appreciate when a company goes above and beyond to give back to their local community, or others who may be in need. That's why I want to give a shout out to Hatley here, for being sensitive to their environment, making thoughtful considerations in manufacturing consistently, and using a facility to create their items that feels it is important to do the same. in 2007 they created the Hatley Massawippi Water Initiative to help the local North Hatley community maintain clean and adequate water resources. A percentage of their profits and resources each year is also donated to a lobby group dedicated to preserving the quality of the lake and its watershed.
Still no fireflies... so we messed around in the yard a little and filled up the bird feeders. You can see the nice length of the shorts in this picture. |
But back to the fireflies! When we first went out, at about 8:30, the lightning bugs just weren't making themselves known. So we messed around in the yard a little, and filled up the bird feeders. Then we happened around to the back again, to see if it was time.
That was the end of the picture taking because the lightning bugs were out and b.u.s.y. We had a great time running around and catching them (and then of course, letting them go). We love summertime, we love lightning bugs, and we love Hatley Pajamas!
Hatley offers much more than pajamas, they have a full clothing line for children, and items for men and women too!
You can learn more about Hatley by visiting their website.
You can also visit them on Facebook, Twitter, G+, Pinterest, and or their YouTube channel.

ReplyDeleteI like their pjs. I also like their umbrellas. I actually won a Kidorible one, and bought a Hatley one for the boys at Easter time last year. The Kidorible one broke the first time Isaak opened it. The Hatley one was so sturdy and nice, I went back and ordered another. They all have wooden handles. They just don't feel cheap.
ReplyDeleteI like catching fireflies. I just don't see them like I used to though. They are having problems like the bees are. Both are rapidly dying out. :(
We love Hatley. Their pjs are so cute.
