We need one more seat in our library to make it complete. It's something that's been missing since we moved in...an "I'll get to it," thing that is still looming 6yrs. later.

This morning I had the news running on TV (seeing if school was in session, which it is, woohoo!) and I saw a chaise lounge sofa. I've seen them before and they've mildly piqued my interest, but nothing more. Today, I'm seriously considering one for purchase. It looks like a piece of furniture you could really kick back in to read a book. OR, it looks like it could be a complete waste of money because it's not at all conducive to sitting, or comfy for reading.
So...I'm torn.
Has anyone sat in one? Lounged in one? Are they dreamy? Or a waste of money?
Just looking for opinions. Many thanks, and HAPPY FRIDAY!!
My parents have one and I have to say, that whenever the family goes over there for holidays or whatnot, we all fight over who gets to sit on it.
ReplyDeleteI have never sat on one before, but I have to say, the first one pictured, even though it looks BEAUTIFUL, would, I believe, not be all that comfortable to sit on, OR lounge on. The second one pictured (source), would look to me to be the ideal piece of furniture to stretch out on and read a book, or take one magnificent nap on! Just my personal opinion...
ReplyDeleteNever have had one, but always thought they looked so comfortable and think you should go for it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've had the (sometimes dubious) pleasure of sitting or stretching out on several and have to say you want to make sure and try it out. Some are wonderful whilst others are, literally, a pain.
ReplyDeleteI have a lounge in my living room and love it. I wanted one done in material and not leather. When I sit on leather, I freeze my rear end off.... so I always go for fabric. We like ours, although I don't get to sit down a lot and use it.
ReplyDeleteI've not a clue since I've not been on one either. I think you should go sit on on yourself and see what you think.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ☺
i think they are cool....we used to have one, well kinda one that was geared a bit more toward comfort...but i liked being able to put the feet up...ha.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on the one you buy. Just like some couches are more comfy than others, so it is with chaises. I do like them though.
ReplyDeleteI think they looks so comfortable. You have to have the room for them though. That's the down side.
ReplyDeleteIm going with lounge, These things look so comfortable and stylish
ReplyDeleteI don't know which one you like better - but the second one looks wonderful! I want one too!
ReplyDeleteI would love one like the first one pictured above-bit in a fabric cover rather then leather. I can definitely see me relaxing with a book in that one!
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents had a lounge like this when I was growing up. It actually worked really well for extra seating when they had a lot of people over, although I know one of my uncles used to complain it was bad for his back when used as a couch because there wasn't much to lean against. I think that if you have the room for it, it's a great addition to any home and looks great!
ReplyDeleteI have never sat on one so I don't know, but I am sure you will have fun trying some out heheh!
ReplyDeleteHave a loungetastic week ;-)
Never sat on one either, but that last one doesn't look like it would be very good posture wise as your feet may take a hit
ReplyDeleteNo , I don't have a lounge. But I would love to have one! Its so comfy and I can stay in there the whole day, not that my life will permit it haha- Vinma
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have never sat in one, so I don't know if they are really comfortable or not. I just love the look of a lounger and so I really want one!
ReplyDeleteHi Rosey .. Rudyard Kipling did all his writing on one, when they moved to Batemans near here in Sussex .... I imagine they could be quite comfortable and if I had a large enough place then I think I'd put one in .. I'd have the one with the back and sides .. if you do - enjoy! Hilary
ReplyDeleteI love the one in the 2nd pic! I have one in my bedroom. Really love it, but rarely get the chance to enjoy it because either my daughter or my hubby is occupying the space.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good chaise lounge sofa, though I don't have one of my own. I suggest getting one with a taller back for better lumbar support.
ReplyDeleteThe lounge chairs i have all end up being places where laundry or something else accumulates rather than a place we actually sit with out feet up to read a book. Hope you get something you really like!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I absolutely love these! The top one is my fave. We have an antique fainting couch that I rarely use but my daughter like to lay on it when she is on the ipad.
ReplyDeleteWe have one of these, not so fancy though... and it's super comfy! My hubby wants one of these fancy one's though lol.
ReplyDeleteTo lounge, on the first one. Near a fire. Comfortable blanket, cup of coffee and my favorite book! :)
ReplyDeleteI own one and I LOVE it ... it's so freaking comfy! The funny thing is that I don't sit in it as much and every time I do I always wonder why I don't sit in it more. But it is awesome!!

I have a lounge connected to my sofa and we all fight for it too!
ReplyDeleteMichelle F.
I want a lounge chair now!! Those are so pretty!
ReplyDeletei like the top one...
ReplyDeletethe bottom looks cool- but not that comfy
I can see that located by a bay window for a place to read a god book! Looks so comfy!
ReplyDeleteI think you would just have to try it out to see if you like it. I will never buy furniture without trying out a showroom piece first.
ReplyDeletecan i take a nap in it now, please? :D
ReplyDeleteI have never sat in one of these, but this lounge chair would be the perfect chair for me because if I am sitting I have to put my legs up. I really like this chair, and you should get it! I bet you will love it!
ReplyDeleteI want one of these so bad for my home office! that chair is fabulous! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of the second one! Beautiful picks!

I don't have one, but these are gorgeous! I've been wanting one for our Master Bedroom, though!
ReplyDeleteWe had a sectional that came with one. I actually LOVED it! It was perfect for reading, napping or relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI've never trued one of these... but I'm pretty sure it's a really handy - I vote Yes!

I have never sat in one but they do look comfy Rosey :)
ReplyDeleteI have never sat in one however they look super comfey! Especially to red a book or watch tv. It is very good looking as well.
ReplyDeleteI actually have never sat in one, but now I think I want one. lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the second one. I would have one in my house if I had the space/money. I think you should try it out first. Everything depends on your bodyshape and the use you want to give it. So go have a run in furniture department and try out one with some comfy cushions. Then you'll know if it is the one :)
ReplyDeleteI've never sat in one, but I love the look of the one in the top pictures. It also looks like it's at least somewhat conducive to sitting on when you're not curled up with a book.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a great place to sit and read a book. Plus, it would be a conversation piece.

I've never sat in one of those before, but it sure looks comfy! We need to get a new sofa as soon as we can afford it. The one we are currently using is old and stained. Have a terrific weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather had a soft cushioned one and it was so comfy. Plus it looked great too. I liked to lay on it while watching tv or reading a book.
ReplyDeleteLove the chaise lounge sofa, it would look gorgeous in my home office!
ReplyDeleteBoth are stunning, comfy or not.
ReplyDeleteI love chase lounges, but I'd be looking for something not leather or pleather for our family room. Need something good enough to nap on without the seat sticking to your thighs. But I love the design with these!
ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous. I've never had one, so I can't vouch for their comfort, but they would LOOK great.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever sat in one of those, but they do look comfy to me! And they are really stylish in my opinion. Let us know if you take the plunge!
ReplyDeleteYes, they are comfy. There are a lot of different makes and models so you'll have to do your research. I say go for it!!!
ReplyDeleteI always admire how pretty they look, but I don't think I would ever purchase one for our home. I'd be interested to see how it looks in your house if you do purchase one!
ReplyDeleteNow that looks like a fab lounge to have a relaxing day after work. Go for it. I love the second one.
ReplyDeleteGet the right one for you, some aren't great for the back
ReplyDeleteThat last one looks comfy
ReplyDeleteIf you have any of these, the answer is obvious - lounge away. They look so comfy.
ReplyDeleteThe love child of a bed and a sofa chair!
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law has one but I personally won't buy one. It all depends on your taste. I much prefer to have a sofa and lounge on that. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh! These are both really nice. I have a tendency to drool though and I think I would mess up these pretty chairs. lol!
ReplyDeleteI haven't but I would love to get one of those for our living room.
ReplyDeleteI have never sat on one like this, but I think it looks comfy!
ReplyDeletecanlı tv izle http://canlitv6.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteMy son has one quite similar to the photo at the bottom. His is not leather, but same type of lounge. I really like it and it's quite comfy :) If you have the room for it, I would recommend for sure!
ReplyDeleteMy husband parents had one like this not leather, but it was nice to have a est on but not much when used as couch
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted one for my future woman cave. I've sat in one that's like a giant wave and so comfortable go for it but try it out first to make sure its the one you want.
ReplyDeleteI've never sat in one, but it sure does look like a great place to read!
ReplyDeletethose are so comfy and elegant to look at - I definitely would want one in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is gorgeous! I would love to see how it looks in your house if you do purchase one!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Rosey!
I'm kinda thinking that's a read a book chair too or heck, watch a movie or really anything! I just want to sit in it and see how it feels!
ReplyDeleteI've never had one, but I can't remember if I've sat on one.
ReplyDeleteI agree it would be great for relax and read. Afterall I sleep on the couch! However for sitting, it might not be so good for the back, but that is why you have those little pillows for support right ? :)
I hope you get a really good one!
I have never sat on one but omg I want the second one. Cute and looks so comfy!
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I inherited a single-person lounge chair similar to the one in your second photo. It had been my grandfather's, and it was supposedly a therapeutic chair for him. I loved it, though. Really comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThese look so comfortable. They are both so beautiful. I wish I could have them both. I would lounge all day, If I could!
ReplyDeleteThese lounge chairs are really nice. I think they would dress up any living room or office.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried one but it certainly looks like it would be comfortable and I would not hesitate to get it!
ReplyDeleteThey are so comfy-- but for myself I don't believe I would go leather, tuck and roll for sure and they are pretty spendy almost as much as a good sofa-- but they sure are nice
ReplyDeleteHi Rosey,
ReplyDeleteWe have a chaise on our couch. We love it! It's where everyone wants to sit. I like it because it has two sides to it. I'm not a fan of the one with no "arm." I like to lean on something, but that's just me. Good luck with your decision.
Sincerely,
Karina
We have a chaise attached to our couch I hate it I lovely recliner would be more comfy
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law used to have one in her bedroom and I LOVED it!
