I love that song.
But really, it's cold outside. :) Hope everyone in the path of the storm got through okay. Looks like the worst of it's gone through here. The wind's not bad at all, so the power's still on, which is what I was most concerned about. When it's cold-cold you don't want to lose power.
Big kudos to those who go out and work in this kind of weather...my hubby, policemen, retail workers, etc. It takes a good work ethic to get out there and go when it's miserable cold like this outside. Or maybe I just have a strict aversion to it that not everyone does. ;) Either way...big high five to those trudging forward today, and other days like this, to keep things running smoothly.
Once the temperatures warm up abit, lot, we'll be getting the sleds out. THIS snow is going to be fun for sledding (and snowman building). The silver lining in the storm, and I can't wait! :)

It's the first teen on the moon? |
Nope, it's just a snow pile in the city from the snow plows :) |

Shout out to them all too! It does take commitment to go out in extreme weathers like this. Have fun in the snow when you do get out Rosey!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ugochi. I like to play in the snow, so long as I know there's a nice warm house to hurry home to when we're done. :)
DeleteWell said! I cannot imagine doing the work they do in such conditions!

There's not enough insulated clothing in the world to make me want to work in the cold!
DeletePlease take pictures of the fun part as I don't do snow, but enjoy watching others have a great time.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day and stay warm. ☺
living vicariously while parked on your boat, enjoying the sun... ahh, i'm jealous. :)
DeleteI too LOVE that song...but this cold weather is a bit extreme and for the birds♥
ReplyDeleteeven the birds are smart enough to head south ;)
Deleteha. oy its cold here as well...the leading edge is getting to us...and the wind is cutting...i dont plan on leaving my building except between classes but i am really not looking forward to directing traffic as the kids leave this afternoon...
ReplyDeletegah, I bet you're not. At least they likely won't be dawdling and it'll be over fast. :) Crossing fingers for you. :)
DeleteI warmed up here today and most of our snow melted with a huge rainstorm we got overnight, but now tonight it is going to get very cold again and only be in the single digits. Seriously, so ready for winter to be over and I am with you on not wanting to lose power when it is cold out.
ReplyDeleteThe rain when it's cold makes me nervous, Janine. I hate freezing rain for driving like no other thing I can think of.
DeleteThe amount of snow you all have been getting is insane! It's the first year I've been pretty ok with being down here instead. It was cold and snowy when I was up there and my son's county had power out for a week from the ice storm. I was actually glad I picked him up and swept him away from living in sheer blackness while it was out! Stay safe, friend!
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law was out of power for about that long. Kudos to your son for being smart enough to get out of Dodge!! And I'm glad you got to visit with your kiddos. :) Your earlier comment about mine visiting was very nice, and so spot on. I do, like you, love the kiddos home. :)
DeleteWow, that is a ton of snow, yuck to that. And big kudos to them indeed, I'd avoid any job that makes me go out in the snow
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, my friend!
DeleteOh Rosey, I can't believe how harsh this winter has been for you guys. We have freezing temps but finally blue sky. Let's all repeat after me: This will only last for 6 more weeks, this will only last for 6 more weeks, this will only last for 6 more weeks. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fun compliments this morning! Yay!
I'm all in...
DeleteThis will only last for 6 more weeks...
but ours actually stays until March. phft to that too. :)
Thanks for the visit, Renae. :)
Oh my! Hello Rosey, that does look COLD! I was in central Florida on vacation and one night it went down to the mid 50s (Fahrenheit). We were freezing! So I could just imagine how you guys must be feeling. Stay warm my friend.
ReplyDeletehahahaha, my son lives in south Florida and he was happy to visit, and happy to beat this weather and get home. I believe he and his girl had a beach night last night, lolol
DeleteYour vacay pics were nice! I'd love to visit Gaylord.
Come on down! I live in south Florida too!
DeleteI lived there for 18 years and always just loved it!! Lucky you to be there!!
DeleteOddly enough, it went from the negatives to about 50 degrees today. So all our snow is melting, but it's going back to the teens tonite, so we should be all ice by the morning. Fun!
ReplyDeleteThose temperature fluctuations are crazy! It's def. a cold winter all around! I hope you don't have to drive in it, and thank goodness for Keurig's this time of year. :)
DeleteMy first thought: If Rosey hasn't been by Faraway Series she should go NOW. Baby, It's Cold Outside is her Battle of the Bands match-up for this time. I believe she will announce the winner tomorrow. You can get there by going to my current battle and clicking the link if you don't follow that blog.
ReplyDeleteMy second thought: I am so glad I live in Florida. I used to live up north and HATED this weather.
My third thought: Yes, kudos to those people who go out and work in this weather... particularly anyone who has be outside!!!
I'm headed over to your place, and then to Far Away Series, to hear the battle. :)
DeleteThis makes me want to stand on top of one of those huge snow piles!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are ginormous. :)
DeleteHave fun playing in the snow... my youngest made her first snowmanof the year....;-)
ReplyDeleteHurrah for snowmen! We'll be making our first too. :)
DeleteI agree. Based on the photographs, those who get out are very brave.
ReplyDeleteThat they are. :)
DeleteNo snow here but it is windy and very cold for Virginia.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a lot of that wind, and I'm so glad for it!! It'd be way worse if the wind was whipping.
DeleteIt is not as cold where I live as it is in so many other states, and I am just praying that all the hard workers who have to go out in the frigid weather stay warm with a lot of clothes on. Wow, what a lot of snow where you are at. We are way below average for snow fall this year, we have only gotten 6 inches!
ReplyDeleteWe got six inches in an hour. ;) No, I'm kidding, it seemed that way, but I doubt it was that much, lol. Lucky you to be having the mild winter. I'm glad someone is!! :)
DeleteWe are so full of snow here, we had two snow days then today this morning was too icy so they did a two hour delay. It's icky outside. I don't like the cold weather at all so I hibernate whenever possible.
ReplyDeleteI'm good with a hibernating plan too. :)
DeleteTotally agree....we don't want to lose power in the cold, cold either....no heat! We do have a propane stove that will work w/o power, but it's hard to get the temp. up in the big room that it is in. Anyway, today it is about 50 degrees and tomorrow should be in the teens...strange weather here in New England too. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThose weather fluctuations are so odd!! You stay warm when your cold returns too. :)
DeleteBaby it is even cold outside here in GA!
ReplyDeleteI heard GA is getting a cold snap!! The cold weather's really moving far south!
DeleteSnowed in here in Ionia Co. With the low temps & high winds, I'm going to wait it out for a few days. I'll have to keep an eye on the propane tank--we are already getting low. The Road Commission is plowing only paved roads, and that does not include us. Do keep warm.
ReplyDeleteSome plow came down our road, and they usually don't. That's nice, really, but they took down our mailbox on accident and it's buried in a ton of hard packed snow. *sigh* You guys stay warm too. :)
DeleteWoah, that's some major snow! Love the photos and the caption. Too cute :) And I love that song, too!
ReplyDeleteThat song's been stuck in my head all day because of this post, lol :)
DeleteIt's freezing outside! 10 degrees up here yesterday! Brrr...not to mention until this morning we were up to our legs in snow. It rain this morning & washed most of if away. Gearing up for the next batch. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSomeone else said they got that rain too. We're just up to our knees in the snow. And it's crazy cold. Happy New Year to you too!
DeleteWow, that's a big pile of snow! I agree that kudos go to those who have to work in extreme weather. I couldn't do it, I'm a wimp and I'll admit it. We've had minus 30 temps here with the wind chill factor. To say it's cold is putting it mildly! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYou stay warm too. We've got that double-digit negative weather going on too. The kids are out of school again tomorrow (third day!).
DeleteI love that song...Baby It's Cold Outside...I really can't stay...hehe.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here in NC, too. Windchills are supposed to be anywhere from -30 to -50 tonight (we're in the mountains). Ugh. I'm cozy...but temps are DROPPING. It was 14 degrees an hour ago. Now it's down to 10. Yeeeeikes! :)
Wow, I had no idea you were getting it in NC too. Though I suspect the mts. might get it more than other areas. Glad to hear you're cozy!! We are too, knock on wood. :)
DeleteSeriously, looks so beautiful from afar. Is now a good time to tell you that it's 81 degrees and windy here today?
ReplyDeleteNo. ;)
DeleteIt's cold for us, too. I know 16* is a lot warmer than the rest of the country, but we're still COLD in the south.
ReplyDeletehttp://joycelansky.blogspot.com/2014/01/musical-monday-after-ever-after.html
16's not warm to me. :)
DeleteIT IS SO COLD HERE... BUT NO SNOW AT ALL...
ReplyDeleteWISH WE COULD HAVE SNOW - AND NO ICE
Wish we could have sun and no cold. hehehe
DeleteThat is just too much snow, depressing
ReplyDeletedigging my mailbox out was depressing ;)
DeleteI'm with you, no working in that
ReplyDeleteNo idea how they do it, and most of the time w/o complaining. Thank goodness for 'em though. :)
DeleteI heard about the storms, be careful out there, but have fun playing in the snow!!
ReplyDeleteWe still haven't gotten out. Kids are off again tomorrow for extreme cold. Maybe another day or two. :)
DeleteWe got dumped on yesterday. Now we have Lake Effect coming in tonight. YAY! More school cancellations. I am so tired of this snow already lol.
ReplyDeleteWe got cancelled again tomorrow too. I'm glad, I didn't want to go out in it anyway. :)
DeleteEverything's iced over, and it's supposed to be -25 C tonight (-40 with the windchill). But it's supposed to warm up to above freezing by the end of the week. Didn't get much new snow here.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the weather's going to warm up some. It's slowly doing that here too. Very slowly. ;)
DeleteOh so cold!!! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteDef. not Texas warm. :)
DeleteI'm so glad your power stayed on. I cannot imagine how it is for the people without.
ReplyDeleteAnd definitely kudos to all these workers who have to go out and about.
And wouldn't you guess it. Just the time I told myself that I'd embrace the winter this time and bam, it's smacking all out!
I'm still holding tight. Maybe it's because of the cats. I feel when summer come, I'll weep for winter because of their potty :)
Pretty cool photo shot too!
Crossing my fingers the potty stays fine even in the summer. ;)
DeleteI'm not adverse to winter if I'm warm and inside, which I am. It's when I have to go out that I'll be crying the blues. :)
Oh Rosey, kudos to your hubs but I hope that it warms up soon!
ReplyDeleteMe too, I hate him working out there in that cold.
DeleteI am freezing out here seeing those pics. It was in the news here in India that .S is having one hell of a cold chill.
ReplyDelete*Stay Warm*
I've never appreciated living in a warm place more than I do now that I don't. ;)
DeleteThis is a world that I do not know. I'd only want to trade weather with you long enough to experience sledding. We are at a rare 18 degrees right now. It will be in the 70s by Sunday.
ReplyDeleteSledding is my favorite snow thing, it really is fun. :) 18 degrees is cold!! Glad your warm weather's coming back!
DeleteBravo!!
ReplyDeletegrazie :)
DeleteYou are very brave! We are at about 4 degrees right now and I am not coming out the house!
ReplyDeleteCuz you're smart. :)
DeleteIt's cold here to. -7 with a -40 wind chill yesterday. It's a little warmer today.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to have similar weather patterns going on. We briefly considered a Nebraska trip over the break, I'm glad we smartened up. ;)
DeleteIt's been way too cold for us.. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteYou stay warm too. :)
DeleteREspect to you all in this weather. Keep warm. we would like to try the sleighing but that is about it. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOhh, a sleigh ride WOULD be a blast! I'd do that in a second!
DeleteIt has been really cold here also in the northern Minnesota. We have been keeping our wood burning stove running almost around the clock.
ReplyDeleteMinnesota...yep, I imagine it's pretty darn cold over that a'way too. :)
DeleteThose are such cool shots :)
ReplyDeleteI love snow but I hate cold so I would stay indoors too. We've had a really though Winter 2 years ago and I spent it most indoors. Not fun. Hopw your weather gets better soon.
I'd stay in ALL winter if I could. :) I've got grocery shopping to do now and I'm sooooooooooo procrastinating. :)
DeleteIt is definitely cold. We were at -7 last night. Today is supposed to be over 20 though! Hooray for that.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny when we cheer for 20-degrees. Believe me, I'm doing the same. Come oooooooooooon 20, lolol
DeleteI live in the South and wish we had snow; that looks so much fun
ReplyDeleteThat particular moment was fun. There are other snow moments that are not. ;)
DeleteThat sure is a whole lot of snow. We were suppose to get hit too, but most of it missed us. boy am I glad.
ReplyDeleteAnd lucky!! We had a storm miss us earlier this year and I was glad. :)
DeleteWe had an extra staff at work during the overnight to be on hand in case the electricity/heat went out during the worst of it. Luckily it didn't.
ReplyDeleteWe kept our electric on too, and I was so glad!!
DeleteIt's still a bit cold, but the wind has stopped and the below zero temperatures have gone away for now. Thanks for joining the Thumping Thursday bloghop.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over to visit. :)
