Northside Sandals Review & Giveaway (great gift idea for Father's Day!)

Warm weather is fast approaching and that means our children who have likely outgrown their shoes from last summer are ready for some new ones. With Father's Day coming up, I thought it would be such a cute idea to get dad and the little one matching shoes from Northside Shoes! Being both sturdy and flexible, these stylish closed-toe sandals are fantastic for summer play.

Our family is on the go quite a bit during the summer months, and a lot of the places we go (like the hiking trails close by) require tons of walking. That means we need shoes that allow air to circulate freely but still protect our little one's feet. We also want to make sure his shoes are sturdy enough for everyday wear.

So when these shoes arrived, we put them to the test. What better place to test shoes than spending an hour or so at the park. Kids can do a lot of active stuff in that frame of time. Like jumping over big circles of swimming, greedy sharks.

Climbing tall buildings like Spiderman.

Making emergency climbs to save pretend robots stranded at the top of the monkey bars (what, that doesn't happen at your park?).

And climbing to the top of Mt. Everest, because the view at the top is worth all of that hard work. :)

The shoes held up fine through all of those grand adventures, and my son kept them on the rest of the day with no problems at all.

From a mom perspective, I love that these shoes came with Bungee Cord lacing, which means no untied shoestrings. These shoes will also be good for the lake and beachside adventures of summer because they'll drain out and dry so quickly & they have no-slip traction lugs on the soles to prevent slipping. The best way I can describe them is as a stylish combination of a gym shoe and a sandal, and that's perfect for summer!

And don't forget Father's Day, like I noted above. I'm thinking these shoes would be a super great better-than-another-new-tie surprise for dad on his big day.
