Today was Game #4 for the Kindergartners and it's so fun to see them learning. The progress they've made with the weekly practices and games really showed today on the field. I felt like they had a clue of what was going on, and weren't just out there to kick a ball. If the coach was talking defense, they knew what that meant... if he was telling a player to walk the line, he/she knew what that meant, and so on and so forth.
We have a little girl who's about 6ft' tall (not really!! but she's a lot taller than the other kids) who dominates the field. She's really good, and of course can outrun everyone because her legs are longer. I've seen her mom at every practice and game, but never her dad. Today dad showed up, in a coach shirt, cheering his baby girl on. Her's dad's a soccer coach (for her older brother's team). That explains a lot.
I'm just glad she's on our team. ;)
That being said, everyone had a good time. All of the parents behave, and I like that...I've seen games (not w/this child) where that wasn't the case.
Afterward we stopped at the park (just a short walk from the field):
And when we got home we were greeted with this:
All the trees have at least some leaves on them, and I love, Love, LOVE this beaaaaaaaaautiful time of the year!
Today is a great day. Happy weekend to you. :)
Today is baseball saturday for us lol :) I love the trees with leaves on them too!

We used to have baseball Saturdays once upon a time. :)
DeleteWhen my Kid was playing last year, they had the shortest and the youngest member on the team who was SO good he could outrun almost anybody even though he had the shortest legs :)
ReplyDeleteThat's fun! I bet he loved it too. :)
DeleteHow I hate seeing the parents misbehave at a game. It so teaches their kid to be a poor sport.
ReplyDeleteWoooot for parents who behave, lol!
DeleteLove the pictures, looks like a great time! :)
ReplyDeleteThe soccer games are fun. :)
DeleteHe is so darn cute my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie. :)
DeleteParents yelling and such at a game is stupid, hate those ones, looks like fun with had and the giant is on your team, nice haha
ReplyDeleteI like the giant on our team, for sure, lol.
DeleteMy son played tball last year, but decided he hates it this year :)
ReplyDeleteMy second oldest played t-ball, but it was in south Florida and he would swelter out there on the field, so he only played it the one season. He never did go back (he took up basketball and wrestling, both inside sports for years, and then football when we moved up north). :)
DeleteThe parents are often the most unruly things at those games!
ReplyDeleteI've seen it in the past. So far, so good this season.
DeleteIsn't it sad that, far too often, parents should be taking lessons from the children in good behaviour.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good this season. I've even heard parents politely telling their kiddos not to thumbs down (or whatever similar) the other team. Woot!
DeleteI also watched my friend seven year old daughter play soccer today. I love watching little ones playing sports, it teach them to have fun and play as a team.

Lots of positive attributes w/the sports, especially if they're starting young, I agree. :)
DeleteWe do T-Ball on Saturdays, but no soccer for us. My oldest tried it and didn't like it, but my little man showed no interest at all.
ReplyDeleteYou can see the T-ball field from the soccer field and the little ones look so stinking cute!
DeleteLove it when the trees are like that too! It's all gloomy over here now as we are heading into winter :(
ReplyDeleteWinter has some perks, but we had a really loooooooooooong winter, it's so nice to see the green!
DeleteLooks like you had a great fun and those leaves are so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteIt was a little chilly in the early morning, but warmed right up and stayed nice the rest of the day. It was very refreshing!
DeleteOh I love this time of year too and out trees are so looking like this as well. And looks like a great weekend so far and thinking soccer for my girls for next year now :)
ReplyDeleteThe kids catch on pretty fast and they have a good time playing together. This is my first soccer baby in a really long time (the other kiddos didn't care much for it). :)
DeleteToday is a great day! That's pretty awesome you have a ringer on your team! I wonder if Reagan is going to want to do soccer??

Thanks for running it. I like that you gals take it down on holidays. That's a great feature and an easy way to remember to enjoy the holiday!
DeleteI am loving this weather, it is fantastic! I'm so glad your little one has a great soccer team and that you are enjoying the games.

I agree, Leslie, the weather is fan-tas-tic!
DeleteHow fun for the kids and yes, spring is an amazing time of year. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic Sunday. :)
Too bad it can't be Spring and Fall all year round. I wouldn't mind alternating between just the two. :)
Deleteglad yall had a great time....
ReplyDeletewe just saw on the news where a fight broke out at a little league game... it was with the coach's wife... and get this... she was DRUNK. ugh....... anyways, love that yall are enjoying this weather, it is nasty and we are under flash floods today :) (it was beautiful this week though)
You just never know what's in those plastic drink bottles! KIDDING! Wow, Noelle, all joking aside, that's a nasty situation for everyone involved, most especially the kids.
Deletebeautiful trees and looks like amazing weather! i lol when you said the girl was six feet tall :)
ReplyDeleteThis weather makes even the worst of winter seem tolerable. :)
DeleteSoccer is a fun sport. It's been pretty here, minus today - it's rainy and gloomy.
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to rain here later today.
DeleteAhh...joys of a soccer mom! I remember it well. Now, I'm a football, chorus, and orchestra mom. Rather be a soccer mom of a little one. The season is shorter. lol He looks adorable in his uniform.
ReplyDeleteI've one in band and one in soccer. I've had three in something all at the same time, that was fun (I can feel your joy/pain). ;)
DeleteLook at him in action! He's so cute in his soccer attire :)
ReplyDeleteThey do look cute in their little t-shirts, lol. He seems to like it...left the park in fact to do a little side soccer game w/some other kids who were there (that's big time for a little one to leave the park). ;)
DeleteThe weather was definitely beaufitul Saturday-especially in the afternoon here when the sun started peaking out! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that the parents are well-behaved and that his soccer team is having fun! My little guy will porbably be in soccer in the fall for his 2nd season. There is no spring soccer here.
I'm liking Michigan this time of the year, Kristie. The weather just couldn't get more perfect.
DeleteI like soccer Rosey! I am glad your son and the little ones had a good Saturday game. The pictures are beautiful. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year.
ReplyDeleteSpring IS an awesome time of the year! Thanks for the kind words, Judy. :)
DeleteSuch fun! I think children should be on teams of choice. So much to learn in this setting.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect day.
And as a mom with a soccer son, I've seen the nasty behaviour of parents. So sad. Glad they showed good sportsmanship supporting their tots.
Spring is one of my favorite seasons.
Spring rocks, and soccer does too. ;) We're going to try and beat the rain today for practice (crossing fingers & toes that we make it). :)
